Uber's Developer Platform organization is a highly visible team tasked with one of Uber's top priorities: accelerating developers' innovation and productivity. We are known for strategic problem solving and driving positive change across Uber Engineering. Uber's Open Source Program Office is tasked with defining & implementing best practices for Uber to leverage Open Source Software.
We are seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager for our Open Source Program Office. In this role you will work closely with engineering leaders, legal and other stakeholders to build Uber's Open Source program. Your goal is to make it simple for Uber engineers to leverage and contribute to Open Source projects. You'll also nurture the Open Source community at Uber to identify and promote best practices, and enable the next generation of successful open-source projects from Uber. Lastly, you will represent Uber in Open Source Foundations and participate in the Open Source community.

What you will do
- Manage Uber's Open Source program including policies, processes and tooling to drive appropriate use of Open Source code
- Develop and execute on program strategy
- Run program governance with Uber's Open Source Technical Steering Committee
- Define success metrics and associated scorecards for Engineering Leadership
- Represent Uber in various Open Source community forums
- Build a community within Uber Engineering to foster an Open Source culture
- Track and report project status, risks and issues to leadership
- Increase visibility of Uber's contributions to public Open Source projects
Basic Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- 5+ years experience working on Open Source programs, Developer Relations or similar roles
- 5+ years experience driving programs from strategy definition through implementation
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters Degree
- Past participation in Open Source community and foundations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with audiences ranging from engineers to executives
- Experience with product roadmap planning, prioritization with product management
- Experience working with GitHub
