About the Role
The Uber Eats team is looking for a sharp, highly motivated Sr Operations Manager to join our US & Canada Grocery and Retail Operations Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing segment of Uber to create best-in-class shopping experiences for our Grocery & Retail consumers. In this role, you will work hand-in-hand with our merchant partners, our Enterprise Partner Managers, and our broader Operations organization to drive incremental revenue growth for merchants and categories through vertical, assortment and promotional planning and activation. You'll be responsible for driving analysis to understand consumer behavior, and turn those insights into action to develop and execute merchandising strategies to optimize the app and UberEats.com to drive revenue growth. You'll work cross-functionally with product, marketing, data science, operations and commercial teams to turn business priorities and plans into effective in-app activations. You are a critical thinker, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with ambiguity.

What You Will Do
- Build Category Initiatives: Build and execute merchandising strategies with a wide variety of Grocery & Retail merchants to optimize product assortment, enhance category performance, and drive sales growth.
- Manage item-level initiatives: Continuously refine and optimize the consumer experience by managing custom collections and vertical in-app hubs to drive increased conversion and category adoption.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Merchant Partners, Marketing, Operations and Commercial teams to ensure high quality storefronts, high impact campaigns, and a high degree of alignment across consumer touchpoints for the Retail vertical.
- Analyze Category Trends and Deliver Insights: Monitor business trends, customer demand, seasonal variations as well as past performance to outline opportunities and refine seasonal and evergreen campaigns.
- Drive ROI on Promotions: Collaborate with internal teams to design item-led compelling promotional campaigns that align with merchandising objectives and increase channel share, while staying attuned to legal guardrails.
- Champion the Consumer: Develop deep understanding of our consumer segments and anticipate their needs by closely following behavior and patterns to determine their next "best action" in app for upsell.
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of strategic operations, business inteligence, strategy, data analysis or relevant experience
- Strong analytical skills with experience working with large data sets across Google sheets and dashboards
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of Merchandising experience preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills with a proven track record of successfully handling complex partnerships, both internally and externally
- SQL experience highly preferred
- Data-driven decision mentality and sound business judgment - you are comfortable diving deep into data to solve ambiguous business problems.
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience working in a matrixed environment, driving outcomes across multiple cross-functional teams.
For Canada-based roles: The base salary range for this role is CAD$114,000 per year - CAD$127,000 per year.
