About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Reporting Analyst to join and become a major contributor to our Amsterdam based Reporting and Compliance Team. Our global team is responsible for the financial reporting and corporate tax compliance for all of Uber's entities outside of the US, and this role will specially cover our Netherlands entities. A successful candidate in this position will have demonstrable experience with financial reporting and tax compliance related responsibilities.

The role has responsibility for the oversight of the accounting of all entities in the Netherlands (reporting under NL GAAP) p, including the consolidated financial statements of the Dutch parent (prepared under IFRS). This role also covers the parts of the Dutch corporate income tax (CIT) responsibilities, and will work closely with our Dutch CIT expert.

In addition to the accounting, tax and reporting responsibilities, you will have strong project management skills as you'll drive cross-border projects and contribute to developing best practice in processes on an international level. You'll be a strong team player who is able to work with people across our global organization.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Tax, Tax Technology, Legal, Treasury, Accounting, and Finance Operations teams as well as external consultants to ensure local reporting compliance and accuracy for Uber's entities.

They will perform activities that include (but are not limited to), review of monthly reporting, preparation of quarterly tax deliverables to assist our US GAAP team, preparation and/or review of the financial statements, project manage statutory external audits, and respond to other ad-hoc activities including business needs and tax audit support.

What You'll Do
  1. Lead the preparation of standalone Dutch financial statements and management reporting under Dutch GAAP and the consolidated annual report of the Dutch parent under IFRS.
  2. Support and manage the annual statutory audit and cooperate with internal stakeholders and the auditors to ensure the completeness and timeliness of reporting.
  3. Proactively manage a project plan and calendar for all compliance deliverables to ensure adherence to all deadlines, communicate any concerns and anticipated issues to the Reporting Leadership, seeking to resolve wherever possible.
  4. Act as a primary point of contact for our NL tax team, assisting them with the preparation of income tax calculations, provision and forecasting, while looking for the opportunity of process improvements and automations
  5. Preparation of various deliverables to support both internal and external financial reporting needs, including analytic commentary and the preparation of supplementary financial analysis for management and other stakeholders.
  6. Direct responsibility for improving accounting processes and controls for a company with a high volume of transactions.
  7. Work independently to research and resolve individual enquiries, liaising with accounting and tax as needed.
  8. Maintain an understanding of the requirements of (and changes to)NL GAAP and IFRS and the differences to US GAAP.
  9. Stay abreast of regional reporting developments to ensure requirements, current process and reporting remains relevant.
  10. Keep up to date on upcoming changes to the compliance landscape and determine how these changes will impact the existing compliance process.

What You'll Need
  1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  2. CPA/CA/ACCA/equivalent qualification
  3. 7+ years professional experience, big 4 experience is a strong plus
  4. A strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts and principles (IFRS & Dutch GAAP essential, US GAAP - nice to have) as well as a good understanding of Dutch income tax
  5. Strong communication skills and ability to communicate key information and updates to stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Collaborative team player with the ability to work autonomously and embrace challenges
  2. The ability to interact with all departments and levels of staff throughout Uber
  3. Excellent project and time management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask
  4. Experience with Oracle R12/HFM or another large scale ERP is preferred
