Our Operations team operates where Uber's technology meets the real world.
We own the local business and set and execute the strategy for our markets in Northern Europe - Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Ireland, Finland, Norway, Luxembourg, and Denmark. At the heart of what we do in Operations is solving problems. We use data, operational levers, and strategic product, process, and campaign launches to grow the business and ensure that Uber offers the most preferred, reliable, and convenient service across Northern Europe, anytime and anywhere.
What you'll do
This role sits within our Rider team, which focuses on growing and engaging our rider customer base while continuously improving the rider experience. We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager, who will be responsible for what we call " Core Rider Growth" - increasing the number of riders on Uber, improving their engagement and experience, and increasing retention by taking ownership of the full rider lifecycle.

You will build impactful strategies leveraging the wealth of data within Uber, design and launch new campaigns and products, and collaborate across teams to execute, iterate, and develop insights from innovative initiatives that deliver sustainable growth.
These are some of the activities you can expect in your day-to-day:
- Develop and execute the comprehensive vision, strategy, and tactics for rider growth, including acquisition, engagement, retention, and reactivation
- Own the rider journey: understand rider behaviors, motivations, and pain points, addressing these through targeted initiatives to enhance rider experience and increase engagement
- Launch innovative, creative, effective campaigns, leveraging internal tools, digital channels, and out-of-home (OOH) media
- Deep dive into rider data to identify high potential opportunities, optimize rider performance and business metrics, and refine strategies based on data insights
- Innovate and scale best practices across our 8 Northern Europe markets, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with broader business goals
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, such as Marketing, CRM, Legal, and Product, to launch new products and initiatives
What you'll need
Basic qualifications
- Relevant experience: You have 5+ years of relevant professional experience (e.g. launching new products or processes, managing or executing projects, solving business problems with data, working in marketing and/or data-focused CRM programs, etc.)
- Business acumen: You have strong business judgment, capable of recommending paths forward that factor in thorough analytical thinking, consumer insights, and practical strategy
- Project management: You have demonstrated your ability to lead initiatives within your organization with robust, structured execution and are skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Problem solving: You like to solve problems - you can quickly identify and break down complex problems in a structured way, using critical thinking and data-backed insights to develop pragmatic solutions
- Communication: You have clear verbal and written communication skills and can motivate and persuade through storytelling to diverse audiences, including senior leaders
- Executional excellence: You can work in a fast paced environment where you will execute on a range of initiatives to produce commercial impact, from continuous improvement efforts to discrete programs to one-off escalation sprints
- Professional fluency in English
Preferred qualifications
- Growth mindset: You are a proactive learner with a "can-do" attitude - you can pick up skills and knowledge quickly and are excited to become the Rider expert within the team
- Data-savvy: You are comfortable working with large, complex data sets using Excel, Google Sheets, etc. and connecting metrics to the real world. Through data, you can validate issues, derive actionable insights, and generate recommendations. Fluency in SQL is a strong plus (prior knowledge of SQL is not required but you will be expected to learn it ASAP once you join).
- Collaboration: You have a collaborative mindset and can coordinate and communicate effectively with a mix of cross-functional teams and stakeholders to move initiatives forward
- One of our region's local languages: Dutch, Swedish, French, Finnish, Norwegian, or Danish

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity. Unless formally approved to work fully remotely, Uber expects employees to spend at least half of their work time in their assigned office.
