About the Role
We are looking for a strategic, data-driven and execution-oriented Operations Manager to join our Global Marketplace team supporting the Groceries & Retail business. In this role, you will lead high-impact initiatives to ensure marketplace reliability and performance by managing complex supply-demand dynamics, surfacing root causes through deep analytics, and driving the product roadmap to improve courier experience, reliability, and cost efficiency.
You will work closely with cross-functional partners in Product, Tech, Finance, Legal, Strategy, and Regional Operations, as well as collaborate across Restaurant and Direct verticals to drive alignment, scalability and innovation across Uber's Delivery ecosystem.

What You'll Do
- Lead marketplace performance and reliability: Define and monitor key KPIs related to supply health and reliability. Build scalable processes and data tools to proactively detect and mitigate imbalances across global markets.
- Be a product and operations champion: Act as the voice of operations in product discussions, advocating for features that improve courier engagement, earnings, and long-term retention. Identify product gaps, define operational requirements, and partner with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to deliver effective solutions.
- Drive investment and incentive strategy: Contribute to the design and implementation of frameworks for pricing and incentive allocation that balance growth, reliability, and cost-efficiency. Partner with Finance and Product to forecast investment needs and measure ROI.
- Develop global playbooks and local strategies: Collaborate with regional teams to adapt global strategies to local market realities, ensuring both scalability and relevance. Serve as the subject matter expert on marketplace mechanics for G&R globally.
- Own complex problem-solving and insight generation: Lead deep-dive analyses to understand root causes of marketplace issues. Build and present compelling narratives backed by data to drive executive alignment and decision-making.
- Influence senior stakeholders and cross-LOB coordination: Partner with senior leaders across Delivery to align on investment priorities, product rollouts, and operational bets. Champion a "One Uber" approach to supply and marketplace management.
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Operations, Product Strategy, Analytics, or similar roles; ideally within tech, marketplaces, logistics, or consulting.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with proficiency in SQL and Excel; Python is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and influence decision-making at senior levels.
- Proven track record leading large-scale, cross-functional projects with measurable business impact.
- Strong product intuition and ability to bridge between technical and business teams.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in high-growth, fast-paced environments and a passion for solving ambiguous, high-impact problems.
- Experience in marketplace businesses or logistics platforms.
- Familiarity with cost optimization frameworks and incentive economics.
- Passion for building magical user experiences at scale.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year.
