Senior Operations Manager, Driver, EMEA
About our team
Driver Operations, in collaboration with regional teams, leads our vision, strategy and execution for our driver-facing operations across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Operations is all about running our business on the ground and helping riders and drivers get the most out of Uber's platform. The team is responsible for driving the growth and engagement of our driver base, and continuously improving the platform experience for our customers.
What you'll do
We are looking for a sharp, highly motivated individual to join our team. These roles within the operations team require a combination of project management, analytical ability, problem-solving and interpersonal skills to work together with key stakeholders. You'll have the opportunity to work on both strategy and execution - taking projects from idea through to implementation.
You will be primarily responsible for driving projects which promote improved driver quality, engagement, loyalty, retention, and improved E2E driver experience. Combined, delivering step-changes in these areas aims to directly impact accelerated growth and competitiveness in the region.
These are some of the activities you can expect in your day-to-day:
- Proactively identify business needs, and develop, lead, and implement projects that deliver:
- Improved reliability across the region, through driver behavior and quality improvements
- Platform loyalty and improved on-platform engagement initiatives
- First class driver experience with the platform on earnings, pain points, etc.
- Operational or product enhancements; address key quality issues affecting driver experience with cross-functional initiatives
- Collaborate with Tech to test and rollout features, and lead the GTM strategy
- Monitor, understand, and interpret engagement and experience metrics on the platform, and identify the root cause of risks and opportunities, propose multiple, practical solutions, and weigh tradeoffs to recommend best approach
- Lead cross-functional initiatives by building close working relationships with the immediate regional team, as well as partners in the HQ Product and local Operations teams, assertively communicating and presenting ideas, findings and insights to assist and guide decision-making, ensuring alignment with business objectives

What you'll need
- Min 5 years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, finance, or general management roles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; confident using data to make decisions and build business cases.
- Fluency in SQL and in working with data sets using Excel, Google Sheets, etc.
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize complex operations that require the support of peers and other teams, and deliver results in a fast changing environment, while maintaining high-quality work standards.
- Ability to interpret and present data to various audiences in an engaging and comprehensive, yet succinct manner.
- Demonstrate optimism, respect others, and work well in a team. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and responsibilities. Maintains healthy working relationships, even in disagreements.
- Professional fluency in English.
Bonus qualifications
- Familiarity with AI or automation tools.
- Comfortable building models or dashboards in R, Python, or Tableau.
- Experience working with Product teams to shape or launch new solutions.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Tax, Legal, or Compliance.
- Background in central or local operations, especially managing a portfolio of initiatives.
