Senior Manager, Claims Management (Process, Strategy & Insights)

2 days ago Phoenix, AZ

About the Role

We are seeking a pivotal leader to shape and optimize the future of Uber's claims strategy. This is a senior manager-level role for a seasoned professional with a deep background in claims, process, and strategy who leverages data as a powerful tool to drive operational excellence at scale. You'll be the one to define the vision, set the course, and drive major initiatives that will transform our organization.

As the Senior Manager, Claims Management, you will be a key leader on our claims team, reporting directly to the Director, Claims Management. You will be at the forefront of shaping our claims ecosystem, steering its operational health, and actively guiding the overall direction of Insurance and Claims at Uber. This role is for a strategic mind who can seamlessly move from high-level planning to hands-on execution, ensuring our approach to claims is not only effective but also innovative.

Join us in shaping the future of insurance within the dynamic world of Uber!

What You'll Do

  • Lead Claims Strategy & Vision: You will be the architect of our strategic roadmap, guiding efforts that define how we respond to the complexities of a fast-moving industry. Your ability to stay abreast of the latest industry trends and proactively identify opportunities for improvement will be critical in shaping our future. You will serve as a driving force behind major change initiatives, using your vision and experience to guide our organization toward optimal outcomes.
  • Leverage Data for Actionable Insights: Data is the lens through which you will lead. You will spearhead the development and execution of Uber's Claims Data-Driven Decision Making program, setting the standards for how we collect and analyze information from our partners. Your expertise will be essential in defining the business requirements for new data, reporting, and projects, ensuring they are not just built but are designed to provide the most impactful insights. You will be the crucial link between our business and technical teams, collaborating to ensure every data solution drives meaningful action.
  • Drive Operational Excellence & Process Innovation: Your deep claims knowledge will be instrumental in identifying opportunities to continuously improve claims severity and enhance the performance of our carrier and TPA partners. You will guide multiple efforts-either directly or through the project teams aligned to the work-aimed at improving our core metrics. The goal is to not only solve today's problems but to build scalable, repeatable processes that will prepare our claims management organization for future challenges.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 7 years of professional experience in the insurance industry (carrier, broker, MGU, TPA, solutions partner, etc.) with a focus on auto or general liability injury claims.
  • Leadership: At least 3 years of leadership experience, demonstrating an ability to manage and improve processes or outcomes across a claims portfolio.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A seasoned claims veteran with deep experience in setting claims strategy at scale and a rich background in Bodily Injury or General Liability claims. You have both handled claims and have held leadership roles in claims management, analytics, strategy or process improvement.
  • A proven leader with a track record of driving impactful execution. You've likely held manager-of-manager level roles or higher and are highly effective at leading and influencing both up and down the organization.
  • A strong executive presence and the ability to seamlessly interact within a leadership team, bringing a high level of professional maturity and valuable insights.
  • A bias toward action and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-impact environment that is constantly evolving.
  • A powerful lens for data and insights, with an expert understanding of how to leverage it to drive and demonstrate impact with clear, measurable results.
