About the Role
Behind tech companies, many stories stand out. It is in the hands of good storytellers to talk about tech for good, to balance reactive and proactive pitches that contribute to strengthening the company's reputation by telling our story in ride-sharing in Mexico.
This role is responsible for telling this story, for promoting our products and services, building strong relationships with media and key partners, and responding to critical issues that may affect our reputation.
We are looking for a great advocate, storyteller, passionate spokesperson, and creative and resourceful leader.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Propose and develop a communications plan for the Mobility business in Mexico
- Establish Uber's brand and profile with the media and third parties
- Adapt and amplify initiatives based on the global communications strategy, to align with our local needs
- Work with the social media team to position our brand and products for consumers, and rethink new ways and formats to promote Uber.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in external communications or public relations.
- Proven experience in communications with a successful record of measurable business results on time and on budget.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Structured thinker with project management skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Stakeholder management: Works across silos and builds strong relationships with individuals and groups, both internal and external to the organization (journalists, influencers, and other opinion elites), to achieve synergies.
- Executional Excellence: Ensures that we not only have the right plans in place, but demonstrate consistent execution, follow-through, and timely progress against goals and plans.
- A strong customer-centric mindset, always thinking about how our customers interact with the brand.
