Risk and Compliance Specialist (Sanctions Screening) - 1 year contract

About the Role

Sanctions laws prohibit any engagement in business with any partner (beneficiary) who is identified as a potential match to any individual or business mentioned in one of the sanctions lists.

We have implemented the sanction screening process to prevent Uber from paying to known terrorists, dictators, money launderers, human rights violators, international criminal organizations, etc.

What you'll do:

  • Identify escalation trends, perform analysis and propose tools, process or operational improvements.
  • Define and build operational processes and solutions that support the program's initiatives.
  • Review escalations, escalate potential matches
  • Analyse inflows, identify mis-escalations, and propose an improvement plan
  • Create PEP/WL/SS reports with risk assessment and reassessments
  • Act as a reliable POC to the Payments teams and local support teams through JIRA portal
  • Identify logic gaps and propose process improvements
  • Identify bugs, system issues and flag them to the relevant stakeholders
  • Provide training and shadowing sessions to BPO L1 agents and other team members
  • Provide a shadowing session to the relevant stakeholders

Basic Requirements:

  • Broad knowledge and understanding of compliance processes (Sanction Screening, PEP screening, Watchlist screening, KYC. EDD, TM)
  • Ability to present data and findings in an actionable and meaningful way
  • Ability to handle stakeholders from various backgrounds
  • GSheets and data analysis skills

Preferred Requirements:

  • SQL is a plus, but not a requirement
  • Experience in Compliance and/or Sanction Screening is a big plus
