About the Role

The Merchant Onboarding & Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that all merchants onboarded through our sales channels are fully compliant with Uber's documentation, structural, and regulatory requirements.

This role is responsible for managing and optimizing a BPO operation dedicated to auditing merchant submissions, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining the integrity of our onboarding process. As a key link between Compliance, Sales, and BPO, this role requires sharp organization, strong stakeholder management, and a proactive mindset.

What you'll do:
  1. Manage and oversee the Doc Check (Compliance) BPO operation, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to regional compliance standards.
  2. Own and continuously improve the auditing and merchant documentation processes, ensuring all onboarding meets Uber's internal guidelines and legal requirements.
  3. Collaborate closely with Sales, Ops, Legal, Compliance, and regional teams to understand evolving business needs and adapt workflows accordingly.
  4. Standardize and align processes across countries, ensuring scalability and consistency in execution.
  5. Monitor and report on performance, identify operational gaps, and implement improvement initiatives that increase accuracy and efficiency.
  6. Maintain strong, ongoing communication with cross-functional and regional stakeholders to ensure alignment on compliance strategy and execution.
  7. Lead planning efforts and project initiatives to support continuous improvement, system updates, or changes in regulation.
  8. Act as the first line of defense in identifying risks or compliance failures, escalating issues appropriately and quickly.

What you need
  1. 1+ years of experience in project management, especially in fast-paced or operational environments.
  2. Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with data, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
  3. Excellent stakeholder management abilities across cross-functional and multicultural teams.
  4. High attention to detail, process-oriented mindset, and ability to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously.
  5. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive results with minimal oversight.
  6. Proficiency in English
  7. Intermediate Spanish level

Bonus points if:
  1. Experience with BPO/vendor management
  2. Familiarity with compliance, documentation auditing, or operational
  3. Salesforce and SQL proficiency
  4. Project Management Certification
