Program Manager, Autonomous Mobility & Delivery
About the Role
The Autonomous Mobility and Delivery (AM&D) team at Uber is seeking to accelerate the arrival of safe, secure autonomous mobility and delivery offerings that complement our existing products and are beneficial for our customers, partners, and communities. We are collaborating across the ecosystem with a diverse set of stakeholders and with leading companies involved in the development and operation of self-driving vehicles and fleets.
We are seeking a highly driven and strategic Program Manager to lead cross-functional platform initiatives. You'll define and drive complex programs from early planning through full-scale deployment, aligning business goals, AV partner needs, technical capabilities and greater industry context.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining detailed program plans, identifying and resolving risks, and holding teams accountable to clear milestones.

This role demands strong collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders to successfully launch and scale an innovative new set of platform initiatives meant to support Uber's AV partners as they commercialize and scale. It takes more than a marketplace alone to compel users to adopt AVs - this role will be heavily focused on everything else Uber does behind the scenes to scale AV tech and to create a magical user experience.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that requires autonomy, adaptability, and exceptional program execution in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
What You'll Do
- Ownership end to end of a group of high-priority platform-wide initiatives supporting our AV partners on their path to commercialization and scaling.
- Coordination with AM&D tech and other XFN teams to track execution against roadmap. Assistance preparing for regular leadership cadences, meetings and communications; collaborating with other leads to pressure test statuses, risks, and highlights.
- Assist on definition and tracking of program success metrics
- Project portfolio-wide costs and value creation across products and services.
- Work with Business Development & Legal to track and execute external partner obligations.
- Drive better understanding of the competitive environment across planned products and services through industry insights and research.
- Develop an understanding of the technical details for the AM&D Program. Ask questions that clarify priorities and push the team to be highly effective. Develop broad domain and technical knowledge.
- Help manage the cross-functional strategic planning and business planning process, leading conversations with key stakeholders to develop concepts for strategic initiatives, and developing those into detailed program / project plans (including roadmaps, funding planning, resource planning, clear objectives, measurable outcomes, and hiring goals).
- Collaborate cross functionally with technical and non technical stakeholders to identify DRIs, workstreams, deliverables, dependencies, and timelines to launch and scale initiatives.
- Operate with a high level of autonomy, navigating ambiguity to drive clarity and alignment in a complex, evolving environment.
Basic Qualifications
- 4-6 years of experience
- Bachelor's degree
- SQL and Excel proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with AV Companies, OEMs, fleets, and/ or Tier 1 suppliers
- Experience with complex fleet management and operations of complex technology
- A continuous improvement approach, with a history of quick adaptation and self-directed learning
- Strong and strategic 0 → 1 skillset, self starter who can thoughtfully steer programs from inception to execution without heavy oversight and considering multiple perspectives
- Technical fluency and ability to engage deeply with tech teams
- Experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives with end-to-end ownership from inception, to launch, to scale
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; able to tailor messaging to engineers, executives, and external stakeholders.
- Experience presenting decisions to leadership and preparing multiple options with justification for recommendations
- Data-driven mindset, comfortable preparing quantitative presentations and collaborating with strategic finance and BD on pricing strategies
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year.
For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year.
