About the Role

We are looking for an individual who has strong operational and analytical skills, as well as a strategic business sense. In this role, you will manage our Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Panamá and Puerto Rico operations and be a teammate in coming up with initiatives to drive growth and operational efficiencies.

Within the Marketplace team, our goal is to deliver the most competitive, reliable, and efficient service for riders and drivers. In pursuit of this, we use data analytics and operational levers, such as pricing, products, processes, and promotions, to drive sustainable, profitable growth. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable levers to foster demand and supply growth and engagement across the region.

You'll need to deep dive into the details at one end and see the broader picture at the other end to drive sound business decisions backed by quantitative analyses, rapid experimentation, and qualitative insights in an ever-changing and evolving marketplace landscape. This role requires proficiency in data analytics, an eye for business, an understanding of customers' needs, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

What you'll do:
  1. Strategic Ownership: Help develop, lead, and implement strategy to achieve business priorities in LATAM
  2. Business Sense: Monitor, understand, and interpret key operational and financial metrics to help figure out strategy and action plans. Develop and apply understanding of the levers that move our business
  3. Problem Solving: Identify the root cause of risks and opportunities, propose multiple, practical solutions, and weigh tradeoffs to recommend best approach
  4. Process Optimization: Implement, optimize, and scale core analyses and processes across LATAM and beyond, regularly reviewing performance
  5. Product Improvement: Proactively search for new features or improvements that could improve the experience on and efficiency of our marketplace, measure their impact and collaborate with Product teams around the world to implement launches in LATAM
  6. Stakeholder Management: Maintain productive working relationships with immediate team and cross-functional partners across operations, marketing, customer support, product, policy, and legal to scope, test and implement initiatives

What you'll need:
  1. Education: We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply with 3 or more years of professional experience, Operational & Business Strategy background.
  2. Expertise with Data and Analytics platforms, advanced Excel skills and SQL knowledge plus the willingness to develop those further.
  3. Problem solver mindset, able to clearly outline solutions to operational obstacles and partner with regional teams to identify and resolve growth blockers.
  4. Executional Excellence: Ability to work and accomplish multiple tasks in parallel, delivering results in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, while maintaining high-quality work standards
  5. Good stakeholder management skills with experience working with diverse cross-functional teams.
  6. Communication: Spanish and English proficiency. Able to interpret and present data to various audiences in an engaging and comprehensive, yet succinct manner
  7. Teamwork: Demonstrate optimism, respect others, and work well in a team. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and responsibilities. Maintains healthy working relationships, even in disagreements
  8. Planning & Organization: Ability to create detailed project plans with project stages, milestones, basic interdependencies, and owners
