Manager, BizOps - Global Mobility
About the Role
The Global BizOps team is responsible for building and continuously improving an advanced business data and tools ecosystem. This ecosystem empowers every Mobility Operations staff member to understand the ground truth of our business quickly.
The Data, Metrics, & Analytical Products (DMAP) Design Lead defines and evolves this ecosystem, with a specific focus on what data, metrics, tools and capabilities Operations leaders and teams need to be able to measure business performance, interpret, analyse and diagnose performance, forecast the future and make effective business decisions.
This role is responsible for engaging with the global operations organization and consolidating a single view of what Ops teams need, what they are already building, what they have already built... and then integrating, prioritising and refining these needs into a single, prioritised roadmap that takes us from today to tomorrow.
What You'll Do
- Capture and consolidate global, regional and local DMAP needs(Data, Metrics and Analytical Product) into a single, maintained set of requirements.
- Prioritise DMAP needs across global operations, based on inputs from key stakeholders at global, regional and local level, and manage escalations, resolve disputes, to optimise the DMAP roadmap whilst giving local teams what they need.
- Develop and articulate the 3+ year vision for how Operations staff interact with performance data in their day-to-day Uber work. Evangelise, evolve and embed this within the organisational consciousness, and align teams around the common vision.
- Introduce new metrics to better understand and manage our business; maintain a backlog of all candidate metrics, sourced from all staff members and prioritised under guidance from global mobility leadership.
- Design and define new visualisation tools to support leadership understanding of performance, but also to enable regional and local teams to analyse data faster and more effectively. Maintain a view of all visualisation types, and modularise where possible.
- Design and define new modelling and forecasting tools, to support all Operations staff to shift focus from backward looking analysis to future looking scenario analysis.
- Drive simplification and alignment across both the global DMAP roadmap but also across the 'long tail' of existing or more specialised dashboards, tools, models in each region, to minimise duplication and simplify ongoing support and maintenance.
- Partner with regional BizOps teams and heads of Rider, Driver, Marketplace to maintain a deep and insightful understanding of the problems that our teams are facing, to ensure that the global DMAP roadmap is aligned to biz needs and also meets non-functional requirements.
- Face off to Tech/Product teams and ongoing AI teams/initiatives, to provide transparency of how Operations is using existing tools (uMetric, Panorama, etc.), where there are improvements / requirements that can be served by those teams, and also creating visibility and shared understanding of the global mobility BizOps DMAP roadmap, to help inform their own roadmaps and prioritisation.
- Drive ongoing / increasing adoption of DMAP roadmap and tools, by monitoring adoption data and engaging with local teams to understand that data / where we are (and aren't) seeing product fit. Also, coordinating / encouraging recurrent feedback collection from power users via hands-on sessions.
