Learning & Development Specialist
About the Role
Our dedicated Public Safety Response team actively supports law enforcement and public health officials 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The global team consists of highly trained public safety specialists who respond to data requests, prioritizing community safety and ensuring compliance with our legal guidelines.
As the Learning & Development Specialist for PSRT, you'll be instrumental in shaping the initial experience of new specialists. While our core onboarding and curriculum programs are well-established, your expertise will lie in their flawless execution, regional refinement, and dynamic delivery. You'll ensure every new joiner receives a consistent, engaging, and welcoming introduction to our company and their role within the PSRT team and can complete their tasks independently after the training.
What You'll Do
- Lead Engaging New Joiner Training: Take the reins in facilitating and delivering our pre-designed, comprehensive onboarding and new hire training programs specifically for new hires joining our regional PSRT hubs. Your goal is to ensure a consistently engaging and welcoming experience right from day one.
- Expertly Deliver Training Curriculum: Execute the established training program and modules for all new hires. This includes guiding them through the crucial onboarding stage, providing hands-on training for essential tools, and thoroughly teaching them how to effectively process requests submitted by law enforcement and public health officials to PSRT.
- Champion Feedback and Continuous Improvement: Proactively gather constructive feedback from new hires and key stakeholders on the onboarding experience and training content and share these insights with the L&D team to refine the training program. Continuously observe and assess the effectiveness of our training delivery, identifying areas where materials or facilitation techniques can be enhanced. Communicate these valuable insights and suggested improvements to the global L&D team to support the continuous improvement of our PSRT L&D initiatives.
- Provide Operational Support: In addition to your primary training duties, you may be asked to assist with other PSRT operational tasks, such as stepping in to help with requests from Law Enforcement and performing quality assurance (QA) checks on data requests when needed. This support ensures the team's overall productivity and quality remain high, especially during peak times or when other team members are unavailable.
What You'll Need
- Facilitation & Presentation Skills: Outstanding facilitation, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and adapt delivery styles to maximize learning for new PSRT specialists.
- Translating Complexity into Clarity: A strong ability to quickly understand and then effectively take complex training curriculum and technical information and break it down into easily digestible, clear, and actionable insights for those new to the subject.
- Feedback-Oriented Mindset: Demonstrated ability to collect and interpret feedback effectively, contributing to continuous improvement of existing programs.
- Empathy and Approachability: A highly empathetic, patient, and approachable demeanor, capable of creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment for new team members.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail to ensure smooth execution of training schedules and materials.
