About the RoleAs a Labor Relations Partner for France, you will support and execute Uber's labor relations strategy across the French market. Reporting to the EMEA Senior Labor Relations Partner, you will be directly responsible for autonomously managing three Works Councils (CSEs) in France. You will ensure timely and legally compliant consultation processes, support stakeholder alignment, and foster effective relationships with employee representatives.

This position plays a key role in maintaining positive labor relations at Uber France by balancing the company's goals with local labor law obligations and representative body expectations, proactively mitigating risks and fostering an environment of trust and compliance. The role offers the opportunity to grow and develop expertise within a highly collaborative and global Employee & Labor Relations (ELR) team, contributing to strategic initiatives across the EMEA region.

What You'll Do

  • Works Council Engagement (France-specific)
  • Autonomously manage consultation and negotiation processes with three distinct Works Councils (CSEs) in France.
  • Prepare and deliver required documentation, timelines, and communications in line with legal requirements.
  • Engage with employee representatives in a constructive and professional manner, ensuring company initiatives are clearly explained and supported.
  • Executional Excellence
  • Manage multiple concurrent CSE engagements, meeting all legal deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Maintain high attention to detail in documentation and procedural steps, minimizing risk of challenge or delay.
  • Plan ahead to avoid bottlenecks and escalate when necessary.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong relationships with French business leaders, HRBPs, and Employment Legal to ensure alignment on labor topics.
  • Serve as a reliable contact point between internal stakeholders and employee representatives.
  • Keep stakeholders informed throughout consultation processes and provide relevant context for business decisions.
  • Problem Solving
  • Scope moderately complex labor relations issues and develop practical, legally sound solutions.
  • Provide recommendations and trade-off analysis in alignment with business and legal considerations.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improving consultation workflows or materials.
  • Negotiation & Deal-making
  • Lead negotiations on CSE topics independently, applying active listening and proposing business-aligned solutions.
  • Ensure outcomes are aligned with Uber's operational needs while respecting local labor law requirements.
  • Risk & Legal Compliance
  • Apply working knowledge of French labor law and Works Council processes to minimize risk.
  • Identify social and legal risks in advance, advise stakeholders on mitigation strategies, and engage Legal where appropriate.
  • Help build educational materials and training on labor relations topics for business and HR partners in France.
  • Program & Project Support
  • Support the implementation of global and EMEA-wide labor initiatives within the French market.
  • Actively contribute to shaping and implementing labor relations strategies that support Uber's business objectives in France, while collaborating closely with EMEA and global ELR teams to ensure consistency and share best practices.
  • Contribute to tracking of projects and legal compliance milestones related to French labor relations.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Labor Relations, Human Resources, Law, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant labor relations experience, with hands-on experience managing Works Councils in France.
  • Solid knowledge of French labor law and familiarity with CSE requirements and consultation processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of handling delicate discussions with employee representatives.
  • Comfortable managing multiple workstreams independently and navigating organizational complexity.
