Our internal recruiting team scales and supports our internal TA program globally by improving our employee recruiting experience, committing to coaching, advocacy, and accessibility to roles and hiring managers. We enable skill transfers and bridges to other parts of the business which dramatically improves cross-functional department moves overall.

As an internal recruiter for our non-tech team, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, engaging and supporting internal talent as they navigate career growth opportunities. You'll focus on creating seamless and supportive experience for employees pursuing new roles, ensuring alignment with organizational hiring strategies, and driving our internal mobility initiatives.

How will we measure success?

  1. Acknowledgment and evaluation of all internal candidates within 5 days of application
  2. Increased cross-functional department moves
  3. Reduced attrition of employees at inflection points in tenure
  4. Regaining the trust and confidence of our employees and showing them that recruiting is effectively advocating for their growth

What You'll Do
  1. Act as a talent advisor for internal employees at Uber
  2. Ensure that internal employees are acknowledged, evaluated, and dispositioned in a timely manner
  3. Build and maintain internal talent pipelines for critical roles
  4. Conduct discovery calls to understand employees' skills, interests, and long-term career aspirations
  5. Manage the end to end internal hiring process for open roles
  6. Build relationships and get to know Uber's talent by filtering, screening, and actively engaging talent within the company
  7. Partner and influence cross-functional stakeholders within the internal recruiting process
  8. Work closely with external recruiters to align on shared objectives
  9. Provide insights on internal talent availability for open roles and influence hiring decisions
  10. Advocate for internal talent by ensuring they receive actionable, constructive feedback post- interviews
  11. Enhance candidate experience by providing clarity on role expectations and hiring timelines
  12. Leverage data to identify gaps in internal pipelines and recommend strategies to address them

Basic Qualifications
  1. 2+ years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or related roles
  2. Experience partnering and influencing stakeholders throughout the hiring process
  3. Ability to manage multiple high-priority requisitions in a fast paced team environment
  4. Working knowledge with applicant tracking systems (ATS)
  5. Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English
  6. Ability to work onsite from our Tokyo office

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience in full-cycle recruiting in a fast-paced environment
  2. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data driven recommendations
  3. Has a track record of partnering with and influencing a wide variety of clients, including senior-level business leaders and seasoned professional candidates
  4. Fluent in both Japanese and English (written and spoken)

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity.
