About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager II with strong, hands-on technical expertise to lead and contribute to a high-performing engineering team. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals, excels at fostering team growth, and is not afraid to dive into the codebase to lead by example. This role combines technical leadership with people management, focusing on delivering impactful solutions while maintaining technical excellence.

What You Will Do

  1. Technical Leadership:
  2. Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and robust software systems.
  3. Conduct code reviews and contribute to the codebase to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  4. Stay deeply involved in architectural decisions and problem-solving alongside your team.
  5. People Management:
  6. Manage, mentor, and support a team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  7. Provide regular feedback, set clear goals, and support career development opportunities for team members.
  8. Champion inclusivity, diversity, and collaboration within the team.
  9. Execution Excellence:
  10. Drive the execution of projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and on-time delivery.
  11. Balance technical depth and team needs to maintain high-quality output and productivity.
  12. Establish and uphold best practices in software engineering, code quality, and system design.
  13. Collaboration and Communication:
  14. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Design, and other Engineering teams, to deliver business-critical projects.
  15. Clearly communicate technical decisions and trade-offs to stakeholders at all levels.

Basic Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  2. 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4+ years in a management role.
  3. Strong hands-on technical skills, including experience in coding (e.g., Python, Java, C++, or similar languages) and code reviews.
  4. Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, system design, and architecture.
  5. Proven ability to lead technical projects end-to-end, from design through deployment.
  6. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a bias for action.
  7. Experience building and scaling teams while maintaining a culture of technical excellence.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience with modern development practices (e.g., CI/CD, microservices, cloud platforms like AWS/GCP).
  2. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  3. Proven track record of driving technical innovation and solving complex engineering challenges.
