Uber's EMEA Mobility business is a vital engine for growth and profitability, operating across more than 40 countries. This region presents unique opportunities and challenges due to diverse regulatory, competitive, and economic landscapes.
The Strategy & Planning team in EMEA is responsible for shaping the strategic direction of our business, enhancing accountability, enabling business intelligence, and fostering cross-functional collaboration across EMEA.
About the Role
The Head of Strategy & Planning is a core member of the EMEA Rides Leadership Team. In close collaboration with the RGM and other stakeholders, they will create the strategy for the next phase of Uber across the region. A key to success will be a multifaceted understanding of our business in order to identify challenges as well as explore new opportunities.
What You'll Do
- Set the Vision: Collaborate with EMEA GMs to define a compelling, mission-aligned vision for the EMEA. Ensure alignment with global strategy while addressing regional nuances.
- Provide Thought Leadership: Partner with regional leaders to deliver actionable insights, set strategic priorities, and align cross-regional initiatives. Share best practices to drive innovation and operational excellence across EMEA.
- Drive Growth Strategy: Identify and evaluate new growth opportunities, leveraging data-driven analysis to support market expansion and business innovation.
- Develop Competitive Strategy: Build strategies to strengthen market positioning, assess competitive threats, and identify areas to outperform the industry.
- Own Annual Planning & EMEA Strategy Refresh: Lead the annual planning process for the EMEA region, ensuring alignment across regional markets and global priorities. Regularly revisit and refresh the strategy to respond to evolving market dynamics, competitive pressures, and internal business objectives.
- Facilitate Collaboration & Build Cross Functional Relationships: Strengthen governance and foster alignment within the EMEA RLT, ensuring seamless coordination across markets and functions. Address collaboration gaps to amplify the team's impact.
- Lead, coach and empower a team: Develop a team of highly talented versatile professionals through mentorship, motivation, and by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and impact-orientation
- Responsible to maintain a governance model and structure that is effective but avoids unnecessary bureaucracy to manage our business and organization.
What You'll Need
Basic Qualifications
- 14+ years of robust work experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, business intelligence, financial planning, or related fields,
- 4+ years of experience leading teams
- Combination of experience working in complex matrix organizations and fast-moving smaller ventures
