About the Role
We are seeking a Director, People Analytics to lead our global people analytics function, shape our workforce insights strategy and transform how Uber leverages data to make people decisions. This is a high-impact leadership role, responsible for ensuring that Uber's leaders have accurate, actionable, and forward-thinking people insights that directly influence business strategy.

As we shift to a proactive approach, this leader will establish a clear analytics strategy, improve data synthesis for executive leadership, and drive measurable business impact. They will ensure insights are not just produced but actively integrated into decision-making.
Serving as a trusted thought partner to our P&P (People & Places) leaders, this role will focus on external industry trends (workforce, talent, technology), policy impact, organizational effectiveness, and employee listening. The ideal candidate has extensive people analytics experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, with a strong background in executive communication, and translating insights into action.
This role can be based in San Francisco (preferred) or New York and will report to the Head of People Data & Analytics.
What you'll do:
- Develop & Execute a Proactive People Analytics Strategy - Foster a forward-thinking approach by identifying business-critical workforce trends, building an actionable backlog, and ensuring analytics drive decision-making.
- Synthesize Insights for Executive Leadership - Improve how people analytics data is structured, combined with other types of data across Uber, analyzed, and communicated to Uber's leadership, ensuring insights lead to action.
- Policy & Trend Analysis - Move beyond tracking metrics to proactively assessing industry trends and evaluating policy impact to influence Uber's strategy and advise on hiring, internal mobility, retention and competitive talent strategies.
- Improve Organizational Effectiveness - Guide organizational decisions using data to optimize role profiles, allocation of resources, location strategy, org structures, productivity and workforce efficiency.
- Enhance the Employee Listening Ecosystem - Ensure employee sentiment is captured in a frictionless way during moments that matter and timely insights are leveraged to inform business decisions.
- Improve Data Governance & Integration - Ensure data quality, accessibility, and integration across HR systems to drive reliable, scalable analytics.
- Develop & Scale a High-Performing Analytics Team - Build a best-in-class people analytics function, upskilling the team and bringing in top talent as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in People Analytics, Workforce Planning, HR Data Strategy or a related field.
- Proven track record of translating people data into executive-ready insights that drive strategic decisions.
- Familiarity with external labor market analytics and competitive talent intelligence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in high-growth tech companies or fast-paced, matrixed environments.
- Strong ability to balance long-term strategic initiatives with hands-on execution.
- Passion for building data-driven cultures.
- Strong experience in employee listening, sentiment analysis, and engagement metrics.
- Deep expertise in data governance, people analytics infrastructure, and integrating analytics with HCM systems.
- Hands-on leadership experience managing analytics teams and developing high-performing talent.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights to executives and influence decision-making.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a bias for action and iterative execution.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$230,000 per year - USD$255,500 per year.
