The Acquisition Sales team is responsible for getting new restaurant partners to join our platform.
About the Role
The Director of Acquisition Sales role has responsibility for all new restaurant sales in Japan. This role requires excellent collaboration across different functional and specialized teams, and will be a key part of the Japan Delivery leadership team. We are looking for leaders with vision and who can build, coach, and inspire high performing sales teams to reach their potential. The Director of Acquisition Sales role will be a good fit for a high performing, analytical commercial leader who will develop and lead the sales strategy for Uber Eats in Japan to support our ambitious growth aspirations.

What you'll do
- Evolve the sales team into a more productive, data-driven future, including setting up new sales functions, charting out organizational change and leadership pipelines, and improving sales processes to increase rep productivity.
- Provide leadership, management, and personal development for a talented team of regional sales managers, city managers, and >200 sales reps.
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets, while continuously improving sales team performance, processes, and morale.
- Deeply understand regional and local nuances and our competitive situation in each geography, serving as a key thought partner to country leadership and various stakeholders.
- Assess the Japanese restaurant industry landscape and market trends for growth opportunities.
- ## You will be responsible for driving and maintaining a robust sales pipeline by implementing data-driven strategies to identify, engage, and nurture high-potential leads, optimizing lead generation processes, targeting the right segments, collaborating with sales and marketing teams to increase conversion rates, and aligning teams on clear goals to consistently exceed acquisition targets.
What You Will Bring
Basic Qualifications
- 12+ years of sales experience - preferably selling to SMBs or a combination of SMBs/enterprises
- 5+ years of experience leading a team of at least 100 people
- Track-record of managing and building accounts, directly managing over USD 200 million in bookings
- Strong English & Japanese communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant experience in other large consumer internet companies or in FMCG is a big plus
- ## Understanding of Japan's restaurant landscape is preferred
