Data Analytics Specialist III

About the Role

At Uber, the Data Analytics Specialists will help drive analysis behind decisions related to operations, processes, and optimizations and maintain and govern Uber's global agent performance data. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in advanced SQL, working knowledge of Python, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. This role also largely requires developing analytical frameworks to support the company in new markets and products. They need to be a big-picture problem solver and strategic partner. They also need to demonstrate analytical thinking through data-driven decisions and possess the technical know-how, and ability to work with the team to make a big impact.

About the Team

The CST Perf Global Strategy and Analytics Team is responsible to build and maintain outstanding reports to monitor the key Business Metrics and identify anomalies that will fix the problem at an early stage. Apart from this, the team is involved in conducting deep dive, root cause & in some cases statistical analysis, to unravel major problems and provide solutions. The team works in alignment with different CommOps managers, CommOps leadership to guarantee results, and consequently deliver the highest service level for our riders, driver-partners, eaters, and couriers. The work that is done is mostly investigative and is encouraged to bring informative results that can be implemented to optimize daily operations and also sometimes adaptable to apply regionally or globally. Reviewing data models and queries while performing weekly and ad hoc data analysis is one of the key responsibilities to keep the nerve center of our operations engine running at full speed.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain queries, tables, and data pipelines to meet global scorecard generation process
• Analyze and optimize existing queries and data pipelines to improve performance and efficiency
• Proactively address issues in our data pipeline and queries to minimize BAU disruptions
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Analytics and Engineering teams to align on data changes and requirements

Basic Qualifications

• Proficiency in advanced SQL for building and troubleshooting queries and workflows.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with a strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Basic proficiency in Python, with the ability to automate routine tasks
• Experience working with Tableau to build and maintain complex dashboards
• Experience in stakeholder management, change management and being able to understand the business need behind the request
• Clear and structured communication skills, able to effectively deliver message to high level stakeholders
• Able to perform recurring responsibilities with care and precision

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Hive, Presto, or Spark SQL
• Proven leadership capability and/or demonstrated independent ability to deliver output that matches or exceeds partner expectations
• Application of Statistical Modeling and Machine Learning Algorithms to tackle some of the most complex Business Problems
• Bring a mindset of continuous improvement, with a focus on refining processes and enhancing efficiency over time.
• Comfortable navigating dynamics in larger, cross-functional teams
