About the Role

We are looking to add to our Legal & Privacy team which will focus specifically on our Legal and Privacy work at our Center of Excellence.

This team provides support to some of our key users and creates a seamless experience to build trust and inspire customer loyalty. A key part of this role will be to provide service to third party legal firms, stakeholders and users of the Uber App.

As a Legal & Privacy Specialist, you will also be responsible for the handling and support of subject access requests for EMEA and numerous other legal issues in tandem with the UKI legal teams, our DPO, and EMEA Legal Privacy.

What You'll Do

  1. Be a subject matter expert - you will own support processes that can be complex and sensitive including the handling of Subject Access Requests for EMEA
  2. Deep-dive issues and thoroughly investigate concerns raised by Riders, Drivers, Eaters, Couriers and third parties in response to complaints raised from the DPO/ICO offices.
  3. Use a wide-range of tools and queries to compile large datasets and provide them to data subjects in accordance with our GDPR obligations (Querybuilder-SQL/Jira)
  4. Liaise with our UK Legal Team's to mitigate legal and media risk - provide seamless support for users whose experience could impact Uber's narrative through legal and/or media exposure.
  5. Assist with compiling relevant information for responses to legal letters & inbounds received from solicitor firms and help our various legal counsels to outline Uber's position on legal claims and litigation.

  7. Motivated. You understand the impact of a highly satisfied, excited group of users; you are determined to solve the difficult issues.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Detail Oriented: Proven ability to multi-task and follow through while paying strict attention to detail.
  2. Analytical: You can make sense of data sets to inform product or process decisions and are comfortable with queries and Google Sheets.
  3. Strong Communication Skills. Managed daily within both your team and stakeholders by providing effective, clear and regular communication.
  4. Quality: A history of high quality work is a must. Applicants should take pride in producing high quality work and be detail oriented to ensure high quality in communications.
