Business Development Team Lead II
About the role
The Community Operations organization at Uber is responsible for delivering world-class customer support to riders, drivers, eaters, and couriers. Within our Community Operations organization, our Business Development team focuses on revenue-generating activities and building strong client relationships to drive the company's growth. As a Business Development Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in leading and mentoring a team of Business Development Specialists, ensuring they meet their sales targets while driving professional development. You will work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to align team strategies with company objectives, optimize business processes, and drive revenue through innovative sales tactics and relationship management.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Lead and Manage Team Performance: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business development team, ensuring team members meet their sales targets and performance metrics.
- Coaching and Development: Provide regular feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members to cultivate the next generation of sales leaders.
Performance Management: Develop and implement strategic plans to team performance, aligning team efforts with broader company sales goals. - Stakeholder Management: Maintain and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, operations, and sales teams and to ensure the team alignment with company sales initiatives and goals
- Sales Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness of the sales cycle.
- Client Relationship Management and Escalation Resolution: Oversee key client accounts to ensure satisfaction, identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling, and address escalations swiftly to maintain strong client relationships.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Leverage data and analytics to inform decision-making, track team performance, and identify trends or opportunities for improvement.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years of sales or account management experience
- At least 1 year of people management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in B2B/B2C sales environments, particularly in fast-paced and dynamic industries.
- Experience in project management, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data to drive decisions and optimize processes.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to navigate complex challenges and drive innovative solutions.
High degree of customer centricity, with a focus on delivering exceptional client experiences. - Effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across functions.
High level of ownership and accountability, with the ability to manage through ambiguity and adapt to changing circumstances.
For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base hourly rate amount for this role is USD$33.25 per hour.
