About the Role
Joining our commercial team offers you the opportunity to work alongside brilliant legal minds while contributing to a business that is reimagining the way the world moves for the better. As a lawyer at Uber, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Uber and Uber Eats businesses, handling an array of innovative commercial, product and corporate matters across the UK and Ireland.
This position will report to the UK Legal Director and is based in the London office. We expect employees to spend at least 3 days in the office, with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as our current company-wide anchor days each week. Where local laws allow, you may also work anywhere in the world for four weeks out of the year.

What You'll Do
- Championing legal excellence: Be at the forefront of Uber's legal efforts, working on engaging, hands-on work, tackling novel legal issues and commercial contracts, partnership agreements, technology agreements, promotional agreements, sponsorships, partnerships, as well as general procurement and marketing and advertising initiatives; you'll be a trusted legal advisor to the Uber Eats businesses.
- Leading on commercial matters: Be part of the incredible growth story of Uber advising across both the Delivery and Mobility business in a high growth market and have the opportunity to develop strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders across the business and the wider legal team and work on a wide range of fast-paced, high impact, and high profile commercial, product and corporate matters. Play an integral part in the phenomenal growth of Uber Eats and advise on the development and launch of new products and solutions to eaters, couriers, and restaurants as well as advise the new verticals team on new retail product offerings.
- Champion of innovation: Uber is known for its innovative spirit, and your legal acumen will be critical in supporting new product launches and initiatives. You'll work closely with product teams as well as Policy, Operations, Marketing and Communications teams to identify potential legal risks and devise proactive strategies to minimise exposure. You'll turn challenges into opportunities by devising out-of-the-box solutions to intricate legal issues to achieve ambitious operational goals for the business.
- A true team player: You'll be part of a close-knit legal team but you will also work closelywith cross-functional teams including employment, tax, policy and communications and stakeholders to drive Uber's mission forward.
- Legal Development: Understand, interpret and apply current laws and regulations as applicable to Uber's business models in the region and your areas of responsibility;
- Clear Communicator: Excellent communication skills - adept at turning legal jargon into clear, succinct and engaging advice.
- Most importantly: you will work hard but have a lot of fun doing it!
What You'll Need
- UK qualified
- 3 year PQE+ at a top-notch law firm or in-house.
- Fluent in written and spoken English. Any other relevant languages are an advantage too.
- Strong academic credentials
- Experience in negotiating and advising on complex commercial contracts including MSAs, SaaS agreements, promotional and strategic partnership agreements
- Strong business judgement and commercial acumen, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence and passion for operating in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
- Outstanding organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Collaborative approach with both business and legal teams, with a strong ability to facilitate ideas, build relationships, gain credibility and partner with others.
- A "go get it" attitude - not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.
- Enthusiastic about Uber, Uber Eats and our mission.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity. Unless formally approved to work fully remotely, Uber expects employees to spend at least half of their work time in their assigned office.
