This role is part of Uber's Safety Operations team - within the Global Safety organization, but also embedded deeply with the LatAm Mobility+Delivery businesses.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to join our LATAM Screenings team. This person will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, strengthening regional and vendor partnerships, managing technical processes, and leading a high-performing support HUB. As we scale and evolve our screenings program across 18 countries, this role is crucial to ensure alignment, continuity, and innovation.

What you will do:
  1. Support the Lead Safety Operations Manager in overseeing day-to-day screenings operations across multiple countries
  2. Create and monitor Earner BGC onboarding and reruns metrics from Regional to Global scorecard to flag and understand trends avoiding potential impact
  3. Serve as the operational SME for LATAM screenings processes and integrations, by maintain, improving and guiding solutions for existing python automations which covers meaningful business processes for the whole LatAm region.
  4. Lead the HUB team, overseeing prioritization, resolution and building bandwidth plans that anticipate upcoming projects and challenges.
  5. Lead and manage technical configurations, back-end migrations and product launches to ensure business continuity and effective rollouts, partnering with Engineering and DS teams to identify, articulate, and prioritize technical issues and initiatives
  6. Document regional gaps and opportunities in detail to ensure regional awareness and work with relevant stakeholders towards its solution (Xfunction with risk, driver access, central safety, product)
  7. Own and deepen relationships with existing and new vendors to ensure high-performance collaboration and daily operational success.
  8. Support vendor-related projects and initiatives, identifying areas for optimization and risk mitigation.
  9. Search on existing and new data sources for signals and general understanding of controls behavior and map those sources, analyzingoperational pain points and develop scalable solutions to reduce turnaround time (TAT)
  10. Develop and monitor out of the box solution for operations needs by creating automated processes.
  11. Support comprehensive analytics requests providing senior management with regular project performance presentations, business cases and support in other critical ad-hoc topics
  12. Manage small sprints / projects related to automations or data

Whar you will need:

  • Proficient in English B2 or above (spoken and written)
  • Experience working with SQL (Presto and Hive)
  • 3-5+ years of experience in operations, vendor management, or program management, preferably in a multi-country or regional context.
  • You've led projects or small teams, and you know how to motivate others while maintaining accountability and structure.
  • Capable of balancing short-term priorities with long-term planning. You're comfortable making decisions with limited information and thrive in fast-moving environments
  • Tech-Savvy Problem Solver: You have hands-on experience with technical configurations, integrations, and automations (bonus: familiarity with JIRA, dashboards, or internal tooling)
  • Experience working with Python (Libraries: pandas, numpy, etc & API's)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in compliance, risk, background checks, or similar operations
