About the Role
The Payments COE (Center of Excellence) Manager will be instrumental in building and scaling Uber's newly established Payments Operations COE. This team's mission is to standardize, streamline, and enhance the core processes that support the Payments Service Provider (PSP) lifecycle across Uber's global ecosystem. As one of the founding members, you'll help shape the COE's long-term strategy, drive process excellence, and enable automation and tooling to ensure scalability.
What you'll do
- Design, document, and optimize key business processes related to PSP contract visibility, onboarding, integration, and performance monitoring.
- Partner with global teams - including Business Development, Payment Experience, Global Payments, Treasury, and Accounting - to drive alignment and accountability across the PSP lifecycle.
- Maintain and improve centralized data sources (e.g., contract metadata, integration trackers) to ensure reliable and timely information for downstream teams.
- Use tools like JIRA and Confluence to track exceptions, identify integration gaps, and collaborate on resolving recurring issues.
- Lead the creation and refinement of templates, runbooks, and playbooks, ensuring consistency in PSP fee management, onboarding, and SLA adherence.
- Act as a strategic partner to the COE Lead by supporting roadmap development, tracking KPIs, and planning for future team growth.

What you'll need
- 7+ years of experience in business process design, operational excellence, or accounting operations.
- Proven success driving cross-functional initiatives in a global or shared services environment.
- Strong analytical and process mapping skills, with hands-on experience in enterprise systems such as Oracle, Blackline, or Salesforce.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams.
Bonus Points
- Experience working closely with Accounting or Finance teams and understanding the impact of upstream/downstream processes.
- Familiarity with the Payments Service Provider lifecycle, including procurement, payment processing, and vendor operations.
- Exposure to change management or transformation programs, including COE setup or process reengineering.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with remote teams and diverse global stakeholders.
