Twilio is seeking a Director, Benefits & Global Mobility to be a strategic leader on the Global Total Rewards team. Reporting to the VP, Global Total Rewards, this role is responsible for the design, implementation and oversight of the global health & welfare, retirement, leaves and accommodations, immigration and relocation programs. You will lead the benefits strategy for the Americas, and partner with the regional total rewards leader for health (medical, dental and vision), retirement, life and disability . You will ensure immigration compliance, and best in class relocation policies. This role is also responsible for our global programs, including EAP and Business Travel Accident.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business case(s) for C-Suite approval using analytics, benchmarking, internal and external business partners insights, etc.
  • Conduct competitive analysis of programs to recommend changes or new programs to maintain the company’s competitive position
  • Research, analyze and make recommendations regarding emerging best practices
  • Evaluate on-going effectiveness of existing programs and plan design changes
  • Implement continuous improvements in programs
  • Own Leaves & Accommodations policies, processes and programs with full subject matter expertise
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of legislative requirements pertaining to benefit and immigration programs in multiple geographies and ensure compliance with all such legislation
  • Strategic management of our supplier partners, ensuring achievement of service level agreements
  • Lead financial analysis and budgeting activities related to global benefits (health care) and immigration
  • Oversight of our annual H-1B cap process and ensuring company sponsored visa compliance globally
  • Own relocation policy, process and programs
  • Provide supervision, evaluation, coaching and mentoring to Benefits, Global Total Rewards and Global Mobility team, including directing long term strategy, prioritization and operational activities
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, People Ops, managers and Twilions

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7 + years working in global organization(s)
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding employee benefit programs along with knowledge of US & International benefits practices.
  • Deep experience with managing Leaves and Accommodations function and compliance
  • Strong understanding of all employment based U.S. immigrant and non-immigrant visas, and immigration experience outside of the U.S.
  • Strong business acumen, with demonstrated ability to identify business, employee, or stakeholder needs and use past experiences to evolve our benefit delivery approach and create effective strategies and processes to make engaging with our programs seamless
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with experience handling critical matters with tact, including confidence to manage relationships at varying levels of seniority
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationship across teams, and with external supplier partners
  • Creative problem solver using data driven decision making
  • Resourceful, results driven self-starter able to excel  in a face paced, flexible environment, with ability to prioritize and move quickly while maintaining accuracy and data integrity

Desired:

  • Tech industry experience
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Google Suite preferred

Location

This role will be remote but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

Travel

*Please note this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado, California, New York, and Washington. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado: $$164,480.00 - $205,600.00 
  • Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $174,160.00-$217,700.00
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state
