VP of UX, Research and Design

2 weeks ago London, United Kingdom

At Trustpilot, we're on an incredible journey. We're a profitable, high-growth FTSE-250 company with a big vision: to become the universal symbol of trust. We run the world's largest independent consumer review platform, and while we've come a long way, there's still so much exciting work to do. Come join us at the heart of trust!

At Trustpilot, we believe exceptional experiences start with exceptional design. As we grow, our mission to build trust between consumers and businesses is only as strong as the experiences we deliver — and that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a VP of UX who can help us think bigger, design smarter, and imagine what Trustpilot products could look like in the next decade. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the way millions of people interact with our products every day, while leading and inspiring a talented UX team.

This isn’t just about making things look good — it’s about embedding design into our strategy, influencing how we solve problems, and leveraging the latest AI tools to create smarter, faster, and more innovative workflows. If you love turning insight into action, guiding teams to craft experiences people love, and making design a strategic driver for business impact, this role is for you.

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you’ll act as the strategic lead for all things UX at Trustpilot. You’ll work closely with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Commercial teams to ensure design is a central part of our business strategy.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the design and delivery of Trustpilot’s global UX strategy, embedding design thinking into our product and business decisions.
  • Inspire and manage a diverse UX team, fostering creativity, curiosity, and a culture of continuous learning.
  • Translate insights from user research, customer feedback, and market trends into innovative product experiences.
  • Champion the use of AI tools and advanced workflows within the UX team, improving efficiency, consistency, and design quality.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Marketing leaders to ensure cohesive, user-centred design across all touchpoints.
  • Shape the evolution of our product interface, balancing usability, accessibility, and the strategic goals of the business.
  • Identify future UX opportunities, staying ahead of technological trends and anticipating how user behaviour and interfaces will evolve.
  • Influence key stakeholders at all levels, communicating the value of UX in clear, compelling ways.

Who you are:

  • You bring extensive experience leading UX teams in large organisations, with a track record of driving strategic design initiatives that influence products and business outcomes.
  • You’re an expert in multiple UX functions — from research and interaction design to visual design and prototyping — and understand how to connect these to strategic priorities.
  • You have hands-on experience with AI tools and workflows, using them to enhance design thinking, collaboration, and delivery.
  • You’re both strategic and hands-on, able to shape vision while guiding your team through execution.
  • You have exceptional communication skills, with the ability to inspire, influence, and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • You’re curious, data-informed, and always looking for smarter ways to solve design problems.
  • You thrive in ambiguity, embracing change and uncertainty as opportunities to innovate.
  • You understand the evolution of user interfaces and can translate emerging trends into tangible product improvements.
  • You’re passionate about mentoring and developing talent, creating an environment where your team can thrive.

What's in it for you:

  • A range of flexible working options to dedicate time to what matters to you
  • Competitive compensation package + bonus
  • Restricted Stock Units
  • 25 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 days after 2 years of employment
  • Two (paid) volunteering days a year to spend your time giving back to the causes that matter to you and your community
  • Rich learning and development opportunities are supported through the Trustpilot Academy and Blinkist
  • Pension and life insurance
  • Health cash plan, online GP, 24/7 Employee Assistance Plan

  • Paid parental leave
  • Season ticket loan and a cycle-to-work scheme
  • Central office location complete with all the snacks and refreshments you can ask for
  • Regular opportunities to connect and get to know your fellow Trusties, including company-wide celebrations and events, ERG activities, and team socials
  • Access to over 4,000 deals and discounts on things like travel, electronics, fashion, fitness, cinema discounts, and more.
  • Tailored leadership development program consisting of workshops, coaching opportunities, and structured feedback mechanisms to enable world-class leadership
