This role offers the opportunity to be one of the founding members of a newly formed growth team whose goal is to deliver new business opportunities for Trustpilot. You’ll report directly to the VP of Growth, with responsibility for building a new data solutions business with the mission of embedding trust in decision making, to help businesses and consumers. 

We are looking for a strategic and driven Director of Business Development to lead go-to-market efforts and accelerate the growth of our data solutions business. This role blends high-level strategic planning with hands-on business development to identify market opportunities, shape our products, and close deals. You will be a key player in expanding our client base, building strategic partnerships, and driving long-term revenue growth.

This is an opportunity to work with key cross functional stakeholders as well as external partners to build on the Trustpilot business and brand. Your primary focus will be partnering with the VP of Growth and wider data solutions team, including executive leadership as well as key functions such as product management, engineering, sales, marketing, program management, finance among others, to identify and develop various new business growth. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Explore and scope “Zero to One” new business development and partnerships opportunities 
  • Identify and secure new customers for data services and solutions across a range of verticals and use cases. 
  • Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline, from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with technology partners, consulting firms, and industry networks to extend reach and capabilities.
  • Develop tailored, consultative proposals and lead complex sales negotiations with C-level stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally with executive leadership, marketing, and product teams to align business goals with market demand.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to shape solution offerings and positioning.
  • Drive strategic planning initiatives, including identifying new verticals and go-to-market strategies.
  • Support the development of scalable business development processes and tools.
  • Report on key metrics, pipeline status, and strategic goals to senior leadership.

Who you are:

  • Experience in business development, strategy, or enterprise sales within data solutions, SaaS, analytics, or consulting.
  • Established history of creating new and unique business opportunities rather than adding to what already exists 
  • Deep understanding of the data landscape, including data architecture, licensing and pricing, as well as AI/ML, and business intelligence platforms.
  • Proven ability to close multi-year, large, complex deals and build lasting customer relationships.
  • Strong strategic acumen with experience shaping go-to-market strategies or leading market expansion efforts.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence; able to engage credibly with C-suite and technical audiences alike.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to build relationships across a broad range of stakeholders 
  • Willingness to travel regularly to meet customers and attend industry events
