If you have experience conducting dynamic software training courses, Trimble Viewpoint is looking for you!

The Technical Training Specialist conducts in-person and virtual instructor-led training for Trimble Viewpoint customers. This position trains customers on how to use our Spectrum ERP and associated integrated applications. This position is remote and does require some travel to regional training facilities and customer sites.

What You Will Do

The Technical Training Specialist is also responsible for designing and developing instructional materials that are functional, intuitive, informative, interactive, and consistent with sound instructional design principles to support software training. They will work collaboratively with other Learning & Enablement (L&E) team members to identify and develop new training offerings. The successful candidate demonstrates and utilizes industry best practices for learning needs analysis, project management, and curriculum development to define learning objectives, create course content and learning tools, conduct instructor-led training, and establish criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.

Conduct instructor-led software training:
  • Train customers on the use of Trimble Viewpoint software. Live training delivery takes place in the classroom and virtually.
  • Present technical instruction in a way that engages and encourages the learning audience.
  • Build connection and credibility with customers and employees.
  • Promote Trimble Viewpoint software, consulting, and training services to customers.
  • Provide customer feedback to the L&E team regarding the field usage of Trimble Viewpoint software and ideas for strengthening courses.
  • Provide input into the development of Trimble Viewpoint's customer class schedule.
  • Identify, coach and mentor new technical trainers, including volunteer instructors.
  • Design and develop learning materials for both internal and external audiences:
  • Identify and develop new additions to course library, supporting an overall robust course offering.
  • Design and develop training and assessment materials for multiple delivery formats, including instructor-led classroom training, instructor-led virtual training, e-learning (tutorials, videos, job-aids), and conference events.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop curriculum that is aligned with customer needs and product releases. Team with staff from other departments to develop content most efficiently by sharing up-to-date information about product features, functions, and performance.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts to plan and develop training goals, objectives, and all course materials for individual courses, course series, and events.
  • Ensure all materials adhere to principles of instructional design and interactive usability per customer needs.
Contribute to the development of L&E team processes and technologies. Continually seek out ways of optimizing learning delivery.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
  • Proficient in core modules of Spectrum.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry - work experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development, instructional-systems design methodologies, adult learning theory and application, and e-Learning concepts.
  • Experience using internet hosted training software (i.e., Zoom, Google Meet).
  • Spectrum database knowledge/experience.
  • Experience independently interviewing stakeholders and subject matter experts at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Google Workspace tools.
  • Bachelor's degree (or experience in a relevant area (accounting, instructional technology, adult education, business).
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
Preferred
  • Knowledge of all Spectrum's modules.
  • Experience with project management and/or accounting software a plus.
  • Experience creating written training materials, such as step-by-step instructions.
  • Experience with web-based course management tools.
  • Experience with Camtasia.
