What We'll Bring:
TransUnion Consumer Interactive (TUCI), a wholly owned subsidiary of TransUnion, is looking for an experienced Advisor for .Net Applications. TUCI builds credit monitoring web services for consumers, like you. Typically these applications allow a consumer to view their credit report, credit score, receive credit alerts, lock their credit to prevent fraud, and simulate a credit score based on various parameters.
Candidates should have a solid grasp of web development processes and procedures in the building and consuming of web services.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, with the ability to interface with development engineers, database engineers, quality control professionals, architects, scrum masters, product owners and executives.

What You'll Bring:
How you'll Contribute: Development: Primarily focused on .Net web services, Windows services and console applications &bull Writing code to product requirements and acceptance criteria &bull Maintaining and reviewing code written by other developers Test Planning & Execution: Writing and executing test cases for testing of new product requirements and any production software or system/platform changes. &bull Writing and executing web service test cases related to the back-end testing of new product requirements. Defect Management and Investigation: Be able to troubleshoot code, exceptions and connectivity issues &bull Reading error log messages related to the applications under test to support defect investigation. &bull Writing defects, including steps to reproduce including applicable supporting documentation, such as log error messages or screen shots. Automation: Enhancing and maintaining automation processes &bull Broaden and maintain scope of daily regression and smoke testing &bull Expand continuous testing jobs &bull Enhance build pipeline jobs Leadership: Help mentor and guide junior developers &bull Provide expertise and knowledge to teach technologies, patterns and practices &bull Uncover and lead process improvements across sprint teams Architecture: Producing solutions and designs &bull Translating feature or user story requirements into technical designs and solutions &bull Analyzing problems or systems changes with enterprise level impact in mind
Impact You'll Make:
What you'll Bring: &bull Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field, or a combination of work and educational experiences that demonstrates experience writing customer facing websites/applications. &bull 10+ years of demonstrable hands-on experience in a software development profession &bull 10+ years of experience in application development (.Net C#) with exposure to high availability, data driven applications &bull Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and should be able to function independently as a team member. &bull You'll write efficient and maintainable code based on technical guidelines, design documents, and industry best practices &bull You'll review code for defects and quality against technical documents and standard practices &bull You'll design and implement unit tests for software application modules &bull You'll generate accurate implementation estimates based on technical documents, business requirements, and team member's abilities &bull Experience programming primarily in .Net (C#, WCF) with knowledge of Java &bull Experience developing and consuming SOAP and REST web services along with a variety of security mechanisms for authentication and authorization &bull Experience with Relational Databases and SQL programming in Oracle DB. &bull Experience with ReadyAPI &bull Experience creating Docker containers and troubleshooting container problems &bull Experience with code repository, such as SVN, in a team environment &bull Ability to work independently and provide solutions to technical problems. &bull Familiarity with JIRA for defect management. &bull Familiarity with Splunk, Grafana and Spotfire for defect investigation/verification. &bull Ability to work with repositories in a team environment. &bull Agile methodology knowledge is a plus.
This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
