Security Operations Engineer

New York, NY

Tradeweb's Security Operations team is on the front lines, protecting Tradeweb's client and employees from the constantly evolving threat landscape. This role will lead in supporting and enhancing our existing Security Operations program as part of our transformation into a hybrid operating model. The ideal candidate will have a combination of hands on, technical experience and a proven track record leading cutting-edge incident response teams. The role will also have an opportunity to work with subject matter experts not only within cyber security, but across infrastructure, data analytics, application development, and business teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Global Head of Security Operations, you will provide strategic insight and technical leadership to design, plan and execute Tradeweb's hybrid security operations roadmap.
  • Mature existing processes and drive adoption of security automation to support key cyber security initiatives.
  • Provide malware reverse engineering capabilities to various AppSec, Operations and IR teams.
  • Act as an incident commander to coordinate and execute Tradeweb's incident response process, providing clear direction and technical guidance to incident responders.
  • Collaborate with Tradeweb's Cyber Engineering and Resiliency teams to define strategies and workflows that detect and mitigate relevant security threats to Tradeweb's environment.
  • Manage relationships with critical external MSSPs and security vendors to ensure they are providing a level of excellence in line with Tradeweb standards.
  • Train and mentor engineers, primarily focused on incident response, threat hunting, and security automation.
  • Build internal partnerships with key business stakeholders, particularly those in our Compliance, Infrastructure, and Risk organizations.
  • Publish related metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) as well as provide regular updates to the senior management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of combined experience in information security and related technical disciplines, with at least 5 years focusing on security operations, incident response or cyber threat investigations.
  • In-depth experience with Windows and Unix operating environments with a focus on disk and memory forensic analysis.
  • Knowledge of disassemblers and other malware reverse engineering tools.
  • Experienced threat hunter with a track record of delivering actionable results in a unique and high regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and maturing security teams with a deep technical focus.
  • Strong knowledge of SIEM technologies and hands-on experience with at least one of the following technologies: Splunk, ELK, QRadar.
  • Ability to translate and operationalize technical, legal, and compliance requirements in a heavily regulated environment.
  • Clear and concise communicator that can articulate risk and impact across a wide range of audiences, to ensure decision makers have the information they need.
  • Deep knowledge of network security architecture, internet protocols and web service technologies.
  • Financial services experience is preferable, or experience in the financial technology ('FinTech') area
  • CISSP, CISM or equivalent qualifications preferred.

  • The current pay range for this role if performed in the city of New York is currently $150,000 to $285,000 per year, based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of pay offered will be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, market data, geographic location, and internal guidelines.
