Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director to serve as the regional lead for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) in APAC, operating within the Second Line of Defense (2LoD) and reporting to the Global Head of ERM based in NY. This role is responsible for executing and overseeing the regional implementation of ERM frameworks, policies, and programs, while also serving as the key risk liaison to APAC stakeholders, regulators, and governance bodies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading ERM efforts in the region, supporting local risk maturity, and ensuring regulatory alignment with MAS, ASIC, and other regional standards—while maintaining consistency with global ERM objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary ERM point of contact in APAC, representing the Risk 2LoD in local regulatory meetings, governance forums, and regional leadership discussions.
- Lead the execution of ERM programs in the region, including risk appetite monitoring, emerging risk oversight, and enterprise risk assessments aligned with internal frameworks and regional regulations.
- Provide independent oversight and challenge of 1LoD risk activities—including risk identification, RCSAs, and control design—ensuring consistency with Tradeweb's ERM standards and appetite.
- Conduct and oversee region-specific regulatory enterprise risk assessments, including MAS Technology Risk Management (TRM) and operational resilience requirements.
- Lead emerging risk identification and horizon scanning, producing thematic insights and escalating regionally significant issues to the global ERM team.
- Collaborate with regional 1LoD and 2LoD functions (e.g., Compliance, Operational Risk, Cyber) to coordinate risk oversight and support integrated control frameworks.
- Develop and implement risk maturity models and regional risk scorecards to evaluate risk ownership and governance effectiveness across lines of defense.
- Contribute to the preparation of Board and risk committee materials, including APAC-specific dashboards, deep dives, and KRI/KPI reporting.
- Maintain risk documentation in Archer GRC and support the evolution of GRC capabilities in the region.
- Coordinate with global ERM peers in London and New York to align execution and ensure shared visibility of cross-regional risks and themes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in enterprise or operational risk management within financial services or FinTech, with regional exposure across APAC.
- Strong understanding of 2LoD responsibilities, risk governance, and risk oversight principles.
- Proven track record in horizon scanning, risk assessment, and regulatory engagement, particularly with MAS, HKMA, ASIC, or similar bodies.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to operational resilience, technology risk, and enterprise risk governance in APAC.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and influence senior audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and experience with Archer GRC and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI) is preferred.
- Consistently delivers high-quality, timely work with attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Relevant professional certifications such as FRM, CRISC, Prince2/PMP or equivalent are desirable.
Additional Information:
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead ERM practices across a complex and diverse regulatory region. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in embedding enterprise risk thinking within the business and driving the continued development of a globally consistent but locally relevant ERM capability.
