Who we're looking for
Toyota's OneTech Manufacturing Tech Services Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated TBMNC BEV Senior Manager.
The TBMNC BEV Senior Manager will lead the strategic development and execution of battery electric vehicle technologies within TBMNC. This role requires a dynamic leader with deep expertise in BEV systems, including battery technology, electric drivetrains, and vehicle integration. The Senior Manager will manage complex projects from concept through commercialization, ensuring alignment with market demands, regulatory standards, and company objectives. The successful candidate will foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Reporting to the General Manager, Products & Services, the person in this role will support the Manufacturing Tech Services department in overseeing multidisciplinary teams responsible for design, validation, and production readiness of BEV components and systems.
This position is based in Liberty, NC or Georgetown, KY. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within a commutable distance of this location.
What you'll be doing
- Key Responsibilities
- Develop the BEV organization with a mission and vision that will support the achievement of TBMNC's mission and vision.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to advance BEV technologies aligned with company goals.
- Create and execute the plant hoshin to support the achievement of the company KPI
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of engineers and technical staff.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with other groups to promote a strong JKK & kaizen culture to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
- Represent TBMNC in customer and supplier meetings related to BEV projects.

- Key Competencies
- Deep understanding of battery electric vehicle systems, including battery management, power electronics, electric motors, and vehicle integration.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to develop long-term technology roadmaps and align them with business objectives.
- Strong skills in planning, executing, and delivering complex projects on time and within budget. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
- Skilled at building partnerships across functions and with external stakeholders.
- Comfortable managing change and ambiguity in a fast-evolving industry.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality and regulatory compliance.
What you bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in battery electric vehicle technology or related automotive fields.
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of BEV systems, battery technology, power electronics, and vehicle integration.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering results on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and business processes in quality, logistics, or production.
- Proven track record leading requirements gathering for enterprise systems (MES/MOM preferred).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Must be willing to travel between plants
Added bonus if you have
- Experience with Siemens OpCenter modules (Discrete, Quality, Logistics, Foundation).
- Prior experience in automotive or battery manufacturing
- Experience with Toyota or automotive industry standards
- Hoshin creation and execution
- Technical problem-solving ability (PDCA, RP, RC/CM)
- TBP & OJD Completed / Passed
