TRD is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Technician, Sub-Assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete assembly / disassembly of cylinder blocks during in-process machining operations
- Setup and operate cylinder hone to achieve drawing specifications
- Complete mechanical sub-assembly of cylinder heads
- Use precision measuring tools to validate sub-component installation
- Coordinate with QC department to validate part quality from QC reports.
- Comprehensive understanding of, and ability to use all forms of power deburr / edge break tools (air and electric) and their associated attachments (carbide burrs, flex hones, cartridge rolls, unitized points etc....)
- Competent with the use of manual deburr tools (deburr knives, countersinks, files etc.)
- Ability to interpret information and perform detailed deburr and edge break operations (Aerospace / Defense standard or equivalent) on various engine components of differing materials, through verbal and written instruction (physical sample, engineering blueprint, printed SOP etc....)
- Competent with various forms of measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, calipers, gauge pins, go/no-go gauges, etc. ...)
- Strong mechanical or component assembly experience
- Working knowledge of both the inch and metric measuring systems
- Previous experience in a Production environment with multiple departments working together
- Ability to operate an engine block liner bore hone machine (Sunnen CK21 or similar) to achieve Engineering size and dimensional requirements
A successful candidate will have:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- Ability to read and understand detailed blueprints
- Previous race or production engine assembly or rebuilding experience
- General knowledge and/or experience working with manual or CNC machinery
- Previous Aerospace or Defense Industry experience (Deburr and, or Assembly)
Computer Skills:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Project, PowerPoint)
- Professional communication via e-mail systems
Physical requirements are listed below but not limited to:
- Standing-Frequent/Intermittent Up to 8 hours per day
- Walking-Occasionally/Intermittent Up to 3 hours per day
- Sitting- Occasionally/Intermittent
- Lifting- Up to 50 lbs. Occasionally/Intermittent
- Carrying-up to 50 lbs. Occasionally/Intermittent
- Pushing/Pulling-between 50-100 lbs. Occasionally/Intermittent
- Ability to complete, pass and operate a lift truck or fork lift, and fork lift safety certification program (Provided by TRD).
Special Skills:
- Forklift operating experience.
