The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the NAPCK Maintenance Department in performing preventative maintenance, and identify opportunities for improvements, on all operational equipment in support of NAPCK Operations.

Reporting to the NAPCK Maintenance Operations Manager, the person in this role will support the NAPCK Maintenance department's objective to maintain a safe work environment and manage costs by maintaining equipment and reducing operational down time.

NAPCK is a multiple shift operation that runs seven days per week. All Leaders must be prepared to cover assignments on any shift as needed. Therefore, even though this position will initially be assigned to a specific shift, it may be necessary to cover work on other shifts. This posting is for a First Shift position. Shift details: Monday thru Friday from 5:45 am to 2:15 pm (possible daily overtime worked on the back end of the shift until 4:15 pm). Some weekend overtime may also be required.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage a group of skilled maintenance technicians to achieve daily targets in areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and development
  • Provide daily direction and interaction typically with 1 team leader and 8 team members
  • Responsible for communication between 3 shifts and weekend work
  • Equipment Kaizen plan development and implementation, liaison with all contractors, vendors and support groups for projects
  • Ensure equipment meets safety, quality and productivity targets while controlling cost
  • Countermeasure daily equipment problems related to safety, quality and productivity
  • Follow-up on team member concerns and performance issues
  • Work with department manager to develop, implement and track department Hoshin

What you bring

  • 3-5 years industrial maintenance or previous management experience in a warehouse setting, or military experience in a relatable field
  • 3-5 years in a leadership role managing conflict resolution
  • 3-5 years in a role facilitating change and developing team members
  • 3-5 years of strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical processes
  • Demonstrated success in troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Technical knowledge and skills in the following areas: PLC's, Computers & Information Technology, Hydraulic/Pneumatic, Motion/Motor Control, Welding, Machining
  • Ability to work post-shift (frequent) and weekend overtime (occasional) as needed based on operational needs
  • Ability to work different shift schedules as needed (i.e., 2nd shift/Mon-Fri or weekend shift/Fri-Sun)

Added bonus if you have

  • Experience in project management (leading projects, managing milestones, meeting targets, and reporting out to all levels of the company)
  • Electrical degree, diploma, or certification of completion for studies of electricity
  • Experience working with and/or repairing Robotics
  • Experience in budget planning and vendor coordination
