What we are looking for
The FP&A OPEX team partners with Finance and Business leadership to effectively manage OPEX strategy, budgeting/forecasting, and reporting performance against budget. We collaborate, challenge, and influence business leaders to optimize expenditure, driving fiscal discipline and a return-seeking mindset. Using data visualization and data analysis skills, we partner with business leaders to develop/deploy insightful reporting solutions, focusing on key metrics/trends and actionable insights. This team works closely with stakeholders across the company at all levels to ensure OPEX strategy / tracking is effective.
This role will own OPEX consultation responsibilities for business groups, support Month / Quarter-end consolidation, reporting, and forecasting, and play a key contributor role in the continuing development of Tableau-based reporting solutions. Among all activities, the core expectation is this role identifies business opportunities for improved OPEX efficiency, reduction, or optimization, and effectively challenges / engages the business to realize opportunities. At the same time, this role develops a strong, deep understanding of underlying business strategy and operations, bridging the gap between Finance and Business goals.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop expense plans (annual budget, quarterly forecasts, etc) utilizing enterprise data and financial technology (Hyperion, SmartView, SAP), adopting best practices with your innovation to promote forecast accuracy and build sustainable, quality processes.
- Develop Tableau-based reporting dashboards to deliver compelling, insightful, and actionable views / key metrics to business leaders. Must be able to lead development of financial reporting visualization and solutions from concept to implementation with some assistance.
- Serve as a financial consultant by developing a deep understanding of business unit objectives / cost structure, and providing financial analysis to support key business decisions.
- Lead executive level discussions by leveraging data to drive business insights while bringing visibility and transparency to costs. Lead focused discussions on opportunities/risks.
- Recommend actions based on your insights by effectively communicating pertinent data/trends through presentations (PowerPoint), data visualizations (Tableau), using clear and concise verbal and written communications skills.
- Continuously improve your analytical, technical, communication, and people skills through offered training and on-the-job experience to prepare for advancement into finance / analytical leadership roles.
- Support seasonal or ad-hoc Finance reporting / enhancement projects (Long Term Planning, business case / NPV support).
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, Engineering, Analytics or similar field.
- High proficiency and professional experience in Excel, PowerPoint, VBA, Tableau/Power BI, and Tableau Prep / Alteryx.
- High proficiency and professional experience in data visualization, and data cleansing. Must demonstrate ability to scope visualizations to executive level, directing attention to strategic, relevant metrics and opportunities. Must be able to diagnose / handle performance issues, break-fixes independently or with minimal assistance.
- Recent graduates with demonstrable, strong skills will be considered; 3-5 years of relevant professional experience is highly preferred.
- High proficiency and professional experience with identifying trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities within complex datasets.
- Comfort presenting sensitive and leveraged topics to executive audiences, both virtually and in-person.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others as well as work independently in a hybrid work environment.
Added bonus if you have
- 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, Engineering, Analytics or similar field.
- Professional work experience in auto financing, consumer lending and/or financial services.
- Proficiency in SAP, Hyperion Smartview / Essbase
- Proficiency in SQL, Python
