Who we're looking for
Toyota's Financial Reporting Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Analyst, Accounting Systems.
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the month end close process to ensure the general ledger system, SAP, is closed accurately and in a timely manner. This role will also be responsible for executing key monthly close activities related to SOX controls. In addition, the position will serve as the subject matter expert and support end users with their questions/requests on month end close process and general ledger.
Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, the person in this role will support the Accounting & Finance department's objective of timely financial close and accurate reporting of financial information.
What you'll be doing
- Perform all general ledger administrative tasks which include opening/closing periods in SAP/BPC, executing balance carryforward in SAP, updating/distributing the Close Calendar, running/monitoring SAP/BPC close reports and completing SOX controls related to month end close.
- Perform required maintenance of general ledger system (SAP) and provide user support
- Perform reconciliation of assigned accounts including Clearing, Suspense, and Currency Translation Accounts
- Support month-end allocation process by coordinating with eCOE, NAMC and HQ
- Investigate and report significant issues related to ME systems
- Collaborate closely with users from other departments/locations to ensure close tasks are completed on time.
- Compliance with and support of external/internal audits which include public accounting quarterly reviews, annual audits and controls testing.
- Update desk procedures and relevant policies, procedures and SOX narratives and process flows.
- Support cross functional projects around close and reporting
- Identify improvement opportunities within the close process
- Focus on revamping of the GL close policy to streamline processes
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Business or related field
- Experience in accounting and financial reporting/auditing
- Experience in public accounting
- Strong financial analytical skills
- A broad knowledge of foreign currency, consolidation and application of US GAAP and SEC regulations
- Mainframe/transactional system experience with SAP and Blackline
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams
Added bonus if you have
- CPA or CPA Candidate
- Experience with an ERP such as SAP
- BPC Experience
- Sarbanes Oxley experience
- IFRS Experience
