Who we're looking for
Toyota's Enterprise Data team within OneTech is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Scrum Master / Delivery Coordinator.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support our Data Engineering team. This multifaceted role will facilitate agile delivery processes, coordinate project execution, and manage vendor relationships to ensure timely, high-quality data product delivery. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and collaborator, adept at balancing team dynamics, delivery schedules, and vendor contracts in a fast-paced data environment.
Reporting to the GM - Data Engineering, the person in this role will support the Data team's objectives.
What you'll be doing
- Facilitate agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos) for the Data Engineering team
- Remove impediments and foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment
- Track sprint progress, manage backlogs, and ensure alignment with project goals and timelines
- Promote agile best practices and continuous improvement within the team
- Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure smooth delivery of data engineering projects and data products
- Coordinate Quarterly / Program Increment planning across multiple teams
- Monitor project milestones, dependencies, risks, and resource allocation
- Prepare and communicate regular status reports to leadership and stakeholders
- Facilitate communication between technical teams, business units, and external partners
- Manage contracts and budgets, with agreed SLAs and deliverables
- Monitor vendor performance, data quality, and delivery timelines
- Coordinate issue resolution and escalation processes with Data relationship
- Ensure vendor adherence to security, compliance, and governance policies
- Collaborate with product owners, data engineers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and priorities
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience as a Scrum Master, Delivery Coordinator, Vendor Manager, or similar role
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience facilitating agile teams
- Proven ability to manage vendor contracts and relationships effectively
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with data engineering teams or in data-driven projects
- Experience with project management and collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, etc.)
- Experience managing multiple priorities and working in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms and data engineering concepts
Added bonus if you have
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM) or equivalent Agile certification
- Knowledge of contract law basics and vendor management best practices
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Experience as a Scrum Master, Delivery Coordinator, Vendor Manager, or similar role in a data engineering or IT environment
