Toyota's Prototype Weld Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Prototype Weld Technician Supervisor.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the Prototype Weld Technician Teams within R&D.
Reporting to the Prototype Development Weld Technician Manager, the person in this role will support the Prototype department's objective to support Toyota North America Product Development and Vehicle Evaluation.
What you'll be doing
- Responsible for supervising direct Team Members (TMs), Contingent Workforce (CW) and North America Manufacturing Companies (NAMC) support personnel. The number of direct reports varies based on project.
- Areas of responsibility may include vehicle weld, fabrication, sealer, paint, and CNC machining.
- Responsible for delegating daily work assignments, schedules, and follow-up for assigned area(s) in collaboration with other management.
- Visualization of program Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and open issues; ensure the team is utilizing the standard Toyota systems to track program status.
- Lead and mentor problem solving activities - Toyota Business Practice (TBP) and 'Ji Kotei Kanketsu' (JKK).
- Support budget, resources, and strategic planning- responsible for annual goals, development, and lead an interdependent 'safety mindset'.
- Toyota Safety Management System ownership.
What you bring
- Expert experience in prototype weld AND/OR rapid prototype.
- Demonstrated knowledge in Project Schedule Management.
- Experience using KPIs for goal setting and process management.
- Proven management experience in group/team leadership.
- Competency and completion of Toyota Business Practices (TBP) and On-the-Job Development (OJD).
Added bonus if you have
- Associate's degree in automotive technology or similar.
- Direct and Indirect Budget management experience.
- Toyota Safety Management Systems leadership experience.
- Basic experience using CAD software to manipulate vehicle data (e.g., CATIA, XVL, etc.).
- Basic experience using AutoCAD for shop floor layout designs.
