Who we're looking for
Toyota's Prototype Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Prototype Assembly Technician Supervisor.

Reporting to the Prototype Development Assembly Technician Manager, the primary responsibility of this role is to lead the Prototype Assembly Technician Teams within R&D.
What you'll be doing
- Responsible for supervising of direct Team Members (TMs), Contingent Workforce (CW) and North America Manufacturing Companies (NAMC) support personnel (number of direct reports varies based on project).
- Areas of responsibility may include vehicle assembly, retrofit, initialization, final Inspection, troubleshooting and prototype evaluations.
- Responsible for daily work assignments, schedules, and follow up for assigned area in collaboration with other supervisors and managers.
- Visualization of program Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and open issues; ensures the group is utilizing the standard Toyota systems to track program status.
- Standardize internal processes and conduct reflection and propose continuous improvement activities.
- Lead and mentor problem solving activities - Toyota Business Practice (TBP) and Ji Kotei Kanketsu (JKK), which means "Built in Quality with Ownership".
- Support budget, resources, and strategic planning; responsible for annual goals development and interdependent safety mindset of the group.
- Safety Management System ownership.
- Set and drive reduction of FMDS targets for CV prototype builds.
What you bring
- Proven automotive experience AND/OR a combination of automotive experience and advanced technical training.
- Experience with project schedule development, management and leading a team through at least two major projects.
- Experience using KPIs for goal setting and process management.
- Demonstrated Group/Team leadership experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel for data/scheduling, PowerPoint for creating presentations and Word for creating weekly reports.
Added bonus if you have
- AS degree in automotive technology or similar technology degree/program.
- TBP complete through panel.
- OJD complete.
- Direct and Indirect Budget management experience.
- Safety Management Systems leadership experience.
- Basic experience using CAD software to manipulate vehicle data (e.g., CATIA, XVL, etc.).
- Basic experience using AutoCAD for shop floor layouts.
