About the Opportunity:
The Production Group Leader plays a critical role in leading Team Members & Team Leaders to achieve daily manufacturing goals while upholding Toyota's commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Group Leaders are responsible for developing a strong working relationship with their team to ensure good and frequent communication on all matters that impact the team including but not limited to implementation of process improvements, mandatory overtime calls, policy changes, wages, benefits and conflict resolution. Group Leaders are the line's interface to management and technical resources.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, motivate, and develop a production team to meet or exceed daily production targets while maintaining high-quality standards
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe work environment for all team members
- Manage production schedules and resources effectively to meet customer demand and to ensure Productivity Efficiency (PEFF)
- Manage floor activities, continuous improvement, Floor Development Management System (FMDS), and group morale
- Train and mentor team members through On the Job Development (OJD), fostering skill development and a culture of continuous learning and respect
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including quality, maintenance, and engineering to support continuous improvement efforts
- Judge quality defects and determine next steps to include seriousness of issues, containment activities and countermeasures
- Perform Standardized Work (STW) audits
- Utilize Toyota Business Practices (TBP) to solve problems with root cause/countermeasure activity
- Display excellent interpersonal, communication, Team Member development and relationship building skills
- Must develop skills to quickly visualize potential issues and resolve them to maintain safety, productivity, and quality indicators
- Effectively resolve conflict and foster a cooperative team environment
- Conduct difficult conversations and issuing Corrective Action to Team Members to address issues effectively
- Represent and communicate the company's message with consistency and integrity
- Responsible for delivering presentations to leadership teams, consisting of problem solving activity, data analysis, and related subject matter
Qualifications - External
REQUIRED:
- 2-year College degree (or equivalent experience) in leadership, business, manufacturing, engineering, or related technical field
- 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to train and develop team members
- Availability to work ANY of the following shifts (Mon-Fri 2:00pm-10:30pm, Sun-Thurs 7:15pm-4:00am, Sun-Thurs 10:00PM-6:30AM)
- Availability to work overtime, including occasional weekends and holidays
- Willingness to travel 10% of the time
PREFERRED:
- 4-year College degree (or equivalent experience) in leadership, business, manufacturing, engineering, or related technical field
- 2+ years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years working in a manufacturing environment and production safe work practices
- Experience in production processes and quality control
- Experience in production scheduling and workflow management
- Lean Six Sigma Certification(s)
