Who we're looking for

Toyota's OneTech Manufacturing Tech Services Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated OpCenter UI/UX Engineer (Mendix).

The OpCenter UI/UX Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing user-friendly, responsive, and visually consistent front-end interfaces for Siemens OpCenter applications. The ideal candidate will combine strong UI/UX design principles with front-end development expertise, ensuring that MES solutions meet both technical and usability standards.

Reporting to the Siemens MOM Product Owner, the person in this role will support the Manufacturing Tech Services department to transform business and functional requirements into intuitive user experiences for manufacturing, quality, logistics, and production control operations.

What you'll be doing

UI/UX Design

  • Create intuitive, user-centric interfaces for Siemens OpCenter applications, ensuring consistency across modules.
  • Translate wireframes, process flows, and business requirements into functional and visually appealing UI components.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and functional leads to refine design requirements and workflows.

Front End Development

  • Develop and customize OpCenter front-end components using Mendix low-code platform, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies.
  • Implement responsive design to ensure usability across desktop and industrial touch-screen devices.

    Integrate UI components with back-end services, APIs, and MES data sources.

Usability Testing & Optimization

  • Conduct user feedback sessions and usability testing to refine interfaces.
  • Optimize UI performance for speed and reliability in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate branding, accessibility, and UI/UX best practices.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work closely with OpCenter developers, testers, and business stakeholders to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions.
  • Document UI standards, design guidelines, and component libraries for ongoing maintenance.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or related field.
  • 3+ years of UI/UX design and front-end development experience.

    Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design frameworks.
  • Experience with Mendix low-code development or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of usability principles and accessibility standards.

Added bonus if you have

  • Experience with Siemens OpCenter or other MES/MOM platforms.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing workflows and shop floor operations.
  • Familiarity with integrating front-end components into enterprise-level applications.
  • Experience in automotive or battery manufacturing environments.
  • Strong visual design skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance usability, performance, and technical constraints.
  • Excellent problem-solving and creative thinking.
  • Clear communication for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
