Who we're looking for
Toyota's OneTech Manufacturing Tech Services Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Testing Engineer.
The OpCenter Test Engineer will be responsible for leading the testing efforts for Siemens OpCenter configurations, customizations, and integrations prior to deployment into production. This role will define test strategies, develop test cases, coordinate test execution, and ensure quality standards are met across manufacturing, quality, logistics, and production control functional areas. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of MES systems (preferably Siemens OpCenter), a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, and proven experience in software testing leadership.
Reporting to the Siemens MOM Product Owner, the person in this role will support the Manufacturing Tech Services department to define test strategies, develop test cases, coordinate test execution, and ensure quality standards are met across manufacturing, quality, logistics, and production control functional areas.

What you'll be doing
- Test Planning & Strategy
Develop and own the OpCenter testing strategy, including unit, integration, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing.
Define the test scope, objectives, deliverables, and entry/exit criteria for each release. Establish and maintain test environments that replicate production configurations.
- Test Design & Execution
Create and maintain detailed test cases, test scripts, and test data for Siemens OpCenter modules. Lead execution of manual and automated testing activities across functional areas. Validate MES integrations with ERP, PLC/SCADA, and other plant systems. Identify, document, and track software defects using project management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Quality Assurance Leadership
Lead a small team of testers, providing direction, task assignments, and mentoring. Coordinate with business analysts, developers, and functional leads to resolve defects and validate fixes.
Drive continuous improvement in testing processes and tools. - Collaboration & Reporting
Partner with manufacturing, logistics, and quality stakeholders to ensure system readiness. Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives. Provide clear, actionable test status reports to project leadership.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 4+ years of software testing experience, with at least 2 years in MES/MOM environments.
- Strong knowledge of Siemens OpCenter (Discrete preferred) or similar MES platforms.
- Proven ability to lead testing efforts for complex, integrated enterprise systems.
- Experience with SQL and validating data flows between MES and connected systems.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools.
Added bonus if you have
- Experience in automotive or battery manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of Siemens OpCenter Quality, Logistics, and Manufacturing modules.
- Exposure to automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Tosca) for regression testing.
- ISTQB or similar software testing certification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Clear communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Leadership abilities to guide testing teams in a high-pressure plant launch environment.
