Who we're looking for

Toyota is looking for team members who are passionate about technology and interested in joining a collaborative and highly motivated team as a Manufacturing Data Steward.

The primary responsibility of this role is to work closely with the Manufacturing business groups to understand their business processes and how those processes create, use, update and archive manufacturing data. As a Manufacturing data subject matter expert, the Data Steward works with business and technical teams to ensure systems are designed and delivered that both leverage and protect our valuable data assets. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Data Enablement, the person in this role will join the Risk & Operations Management team to visualize and reduce Toyota's technology risk by integrating cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance disciplines.

What you'll be doing

  • Ensure data access approval falls within accepted governance processes and adhere to regulatory policies.
  • Collaborate with Requestors and Business Owners to direct requests to sustainable patterns.
  • Research and understand the main data sources for the Manufacturing data domain .
  • Support patterns for creating and accessing the data/metadata including Data Classification.

What you bring:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 10 years' work experience in the Manufacturing Data/Analytics field with deep domain expertise.
  • Expertise in Enterprise Data Management which includes Mainframe/Legacy systems, operational Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), unstructured data stores (e.g. Data Lakes), Data Warehouse/Marts, ETL (Extract Transform, and Load) processes, and web services (aka API's).
  • Expertise with Service Now focused on Request Management and Incident Management using Service Now Console View.
  • Expertise with Data Visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).
  • Expertise with Metadata Management tools (e.g. Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog/Axon, Collibra Data Intelligence Platform).
  • Proficient in the data governance process with exposure to privacy and financial regulation.
  • Demonstrated experience providing strategic consultative services to management and executive leaders; focused on long term objectives, impacting business results, and driving change.
  • Ability to solve problems. Anticipate and communicate implications of work on adjacent fields.
  • Leads projects and prevents problems before they arise.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills; change management, negotiation, influencing abilities; high-level communication skills .
