Who we're looking for
The New York Parts Distribution Center is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Operations Leader (OL). Reporting to the Production Manager (PM), the person in this role will support NYPDC's objective to provide the right part, at the right time, and at the lowest cost while providing a safe and productive workplace that strives for continuous improvement.
NYPDC is a two-shift operation. All Operations Leaders must be prepared to cover assignments on both shifts as assigned. Therefore, even though this position will initially be assigned to a specific shift, it may be re-assigned to the opposing shift in the future.
What you'll be doing
- Coordinate and supervise day-to-day operational activities providing leadership in areas of team member relations, safety, quality, and efficiency
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement through consistent application of TPS, TQM, SPSR, FMDS, Kaizen, and the Toyota Way
- Demonstrate leadership skills that include direct coaching/development of warehouse production team members in support of facility operational objectives
- Create and deploy short and mid-range plans and develop strategies to increase total operational efficiency
- Provide a safe, secure, and engaging work environment that fosters team member involvement, creativity and development in a team atmosphere
- Responsible for the consistent application of company policies and guidelines
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) or equivalent professional experience
- Supervisory/Leadership experience in a PSCO or NAMC operational environment (Team Leader and above), or near/end completion of the Logistics Trainee Program
- Experience in a leadership role with experience managing conflict resolution
- Experience in project management (leading projects, managing milestones, meeting targets and reporting out to all levels of the company)
- Experience in a role facilitating change and developing team members
- Ability to work different shifts (I.e., 1st shift or 2nd shift)
- Ability to work weekends as needed
- Ability to work daily overtime as needed
What you may bring
- Experience in the application of "Lean" principles in an operations environment
- Experience working in a service-oriented supply chain and/or operations environment
- Experience with AS400 and Brio
- Microsoft Office software experience, including Outlook

Welcome to NYPDC
The annual base salary range for this position is $87,800.00 - $142,600.00.Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan.
