Who we're looking for
Toyota's OneTech Manufacturing Tech Services Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated OpsCenter Engineer.
The OpCenter Engineer will play a key technical role in implementation, configuration, and support of Siemens OpCenter as part of our Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) program for the new Toyota battery plant. The ideal candidate is a hands-on MES engineer with a strong background in Siemens OpCenter and an understanding of high-volume manufacturing environments.
Reporting to the Siemens MOM Product Owner, the person in this role will support the Manufacturing Tech Services department to design, develop, configure, and optimize OpCenter and support manufacturing, quality, and logistics.
What you'll be doing
Business Engagement & Requirements Gathering
- Partner with shopfloor leaders, operators, and supervisors to understand day-to-day production workflows.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and process-mapping sessions to capture current-state and future-state processes.
- Document business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications for OpCenter Manufacturing modules.
Solution Alignment
- Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and solution architects to ensure requirements are implemented effectively.
- Validate system designs and configurations against manufacturing requirements.
- Support process standardization and optimization opportunities enabled by MES functionality.
Change & Communication Support
- Assist in developing training and operational documentation for manufacturing users.
- Communicate upcoming system changes and impacts to shopfloor stakeholders.
- Serve as a bridge between technical teams and frontline users to reduce adoption risks.
Program & Project Support
- Represent manufacturing in agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, and system demos.
- Maintain requirements traceability throughout the lifecycle of each release.
- Support UAT planning and execution by reviewing test cases and validating system functionality.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of business analysis experience, with at least 3 years in manufacturing or production environments.
- Strong knowledge of shopfloor operations, including work instructions, production sequencing, and labor/machine reporting.
- Experience documenting business requirements and functional specifications.
- Familiarity with MES/MOM systems (Siemens OpCenter preferred).
Added bonus if you have
- Automotive or battery manufacturing experience.
- Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement background. Familiarity with Agile delivery methods and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Exposure to integrations between MES, ERP, and shopfloor systems (PLCs, SCADA).
