Who we're looking for

Toyota's Quality Control Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support QE Section Management Hoshin Initiatives while assuring customer satisfaction through complete vehicle quality.

The person in this role will support the Quality department to support and coordinate activities with other departments and external organizations to accomplish KPI (Key Performance Indicators) objectives (Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, Human Resources, Training and People Development).

What you'll be doing

  • Support activities to assure TMMK completed vehicle and supplied parts quality.
  • Quality Standard and inspection plan development and confirmation of execution by manufacturing and suppliers.
  • Monitor group KPIs, identify & resolve issues using FMDS (Floor Management Development System) and/or TBP (Toyota Business Practices) methods.
  • Support new model vehicle development with design & manufacturing including Operation Plan (OP) adherence
  • Support deployment of the Quality Hoshin (Management Led Strategic Planning) within TMMK.
  • Support/Lead countermeasure activity for quality problems across departments and within Toyota Affiliates.
  • Manage change points with supplier, manufacturing and design within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Manage/facilitate vehicle assurance strategies (UIN/ Water leak/Door Close/ Emissions/ etc.)

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) or 3+ years of equivalent engineering work experience
  • Engineering experience in manufacturing or working in Mass Production vehicle or supplied parts
  • Experience in Mass Production Quality Improvement, such as process or equipment improvements, focus supplier, part approval (PPAP), process change management and non-conformance management.
  • Experience with Key Performance Indicator (KPI) based management and/or Operation Plan (OP) milestone management
  • Experience demonstrating the ability to independently resolve complex quality problems, including product and process problems.

Added bonus if you have

  • Experience creating and/or updating strategies for training, new model introduction, new technology or equivalent
  • Lead development of vehicle or product quality assurance strategies (UIN/ Water leak/Door Close/ Emissions/ etc.)
  • Experience leading a team for cross department or cross functional goals
  • Experience in multiple phases of new model or product development
  • Experience in inspection process standard development and equipment implementation for quality inspection
