Who we're looking for

Toyota Financial Services is seeking a Distinguished Engineer to shape the future of our next-generation data platforms and enterprise-scale GenAI initiatives. This is the most senior individual contributor role, reporting directly to the Chief Architect. You will define strategy, influence enterprise direction, and remain hands-on, coding to solve the most challenging problems.

What you'll be doing

• Architect and drive next-gen data platforms built on event-driven, distributed systems.
• Lead strategy and technical design for GenAI solutions leveraging LangChain, LLMOps, RAG, and vector databases.
• Partner with executives to guide enterprise technology investments.
• Serve as a hands-on technical authority, prototyping and building solutions to the hardest challenges.
• Define standards, patterns, and reference architectures for AI and data platforms.
• Mentor senior architects and engineers, raising technical excellence across the enterprise.

What you bring

• Proven track record at Distinguished/Chief Engineer level or equivalent.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native, event-driven, and distributed architectures.
• Hands-on coding expertise in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala) to prototype and deliver solutions.
• Experience scaling AI/ML workloads and integrating GenAI into enterprise platforms.
• Ability to define long-term technical strategy while solving problems in the trenches.

Added bonus if you have

• Experience with MLOps/LLMOps platforms at enterprise scale.
• Contributions to open-source AI/ML or data infrastructure projects.
• Publications, patents, or conference presentations in AI, data, or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with enterprise security, governance, and compliance frameworks.
