Who we're looking for

Toyota's Digital Customer Experience Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Consumer Platforms Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to be the Subject Matter Expert for the successful implementation, integration, and operations of the new Toyota Motor North America Enterprise CMS(Content Management System), built on the Adobe product suite, leveraging industry best practices for reuse.

This role will leverage all aspects of an Agile lifecycle and DevSecOps and push design and architecture limits by owning all aspects of solutions end-to-end. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven, detail-oriented, team-oriented, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. This position will interact with a wide variety of diverse individuals, including business stakeholders, and IT leadership teams across the global Toyota ecosystem.

As a Principal Engineer for the TMNA's CMS platform (Adobe AEM), the person in this role will need to clearly articulate the longer-term strategies and roadmaps with customers and stakeholders, elicit feedback, prioritize new features alongside operational issues and other roadmap items to deliver a stable and innovative platform to host TMNA's tier 1 digital applications/properties. This role will also be a key player in the overall architecture of the applications built on the CMS Platform.

Reporting to the Consumer Experiences and Platforms Senior Manager, the person in this role will support the department's objective to sustain its relationships with business functions from a technology provider to a business partner capable of innovating business practices through the delivery of technology services.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance as TMNA builds a state-of-the-art Digital Platform on the CMS of choice, working closely with internal business units and application development teams to drive decisions and provide guidance to optimize costs, generate efficiencies and deliver business outcomes.
  • Establishes and enforces best practices for implementing and utilizing Adobe products, including designing resilient architectures for high availability, incorporating DevSecOps tools and workflows, automating testing, and developing frameworks that promote asset and component reuse. Ensures security requirements are met and oversees integration with other TMNA Digital Consumer platforms and essential TMNA systems.
  • Participate actively in shaping the platform strategy and establishing the technical roadmap by collaborating with cross-functional teams, gathering input from stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with organizational business goals.
  • Lead the design and development of Proofs of Concept (POCs) on the CMS platform to evaluate new features, integrations, and workflows to validate technical approaches, and demonstrate platform capabilities that align with business objectives.
  • Proactively obtains knowledge and expertise regarding changing business needs and industry best practices as well as technology trends related to Content Management.
  • Technical oversight of teams implementing and maintaining the platforms. Review technical deliverables and conduct reviews for adherence to standards and best practices.
  • Partner with Enterprise IS teams such as Enterprise Architecture, Security, Data, DevOps, and Integration teams to review and analyze major design decisions ultimately providing recommendations and driving consensus solutions.
  • Champion for engineering rigor and quality and be hands on with CMS onboarding of new applications, configurations and development.
  • Challenge the solutions offered by vendor partners (For Ex Adobe) by ensuring the interests/roadmap of consumer Platform, application dev, creative agencies and come up with the best possible architecture / solution.
  • Directly support Content Management platform configurations, optimizations, and incidents as needed.
  • Be responsible for enterprise architecture documentation and roadmap of CMS platform products (Sites, Assets - Enterprise DAM).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present strategies, concepts, influence and persuade the business, and make recommendations to management.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of experience managing and architecting CMS (content management systems)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated technical/functional work experience in related areas.
  • Experience in supporting Content Management platforms (Adobe AEM preferred).
  • Experience in architecting applications in Content Management platforms (Adobe AEM preferred).
  • Hands-on Experience on Content Management Platforms (Adobe AEM preferred).
  • Experience with DevOps on Content Management Platforms ( Adobe AEM preferred).
  • Experience in system production support, ensuring SLAs are adhered to and upgrades occur as needed.
  • Ability to think critically and arrive at elegant solutions to challenging problems.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues within applications, and work with the team to implement corrective measures.

Added bonus if you have

  • Master's degree in computer science or a similar technical field.
  • Related technical certification(s): Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure certified, Adobe Certified Expert
  • Experience with data analytics, target, reporting tools, Performance and Code Quality, Assets Metadata Governance, and related technologies.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • Digital Marketing industry experience.
  • Automotive industry experience
